I Use Illusions To Control The Whole World Chapter 37
Pick it up! pick up your clothes!
“Heh.” He let out a light chuckle and pulled out a handkerchief to wipe away the blood.
He was getting closer to death.
He had already entered the Nightmare World, yet he hadn’t, like Yang Dongqing said, sensed the Bronze Law or awakened as a Transcendent. It seemed he really lacked talent.
He closed his eyes and tried to focus, attempting to perceive the omnipresent Bronze Law—but found nothing.
Knock knock!
The sound of knuckles tapping on glass echoed.
Su Mu opened his eyes, and Yang Dongqing immediately sat up, his expression grave as he looked toward the only window in the room. It was covered by curtains, and the knocking had come from outside.
“Looks like a guest is here.” Su Mu was intrigued. He stood up slowly, walked to the window, and used his cane to draw the curtain aside. What he saw was a woman.
A woman both Su Mu and Yang Dongqing were extremely familiar with.
“Moli?!” Yang Dongqing was shocked. “How could you be…”
Halfway through the sentence, he abruptly stopped. He recalled what Li Qiang and Ye Fanyu had said about the villagers—that they could take on the appearance of loved ones to trick you into opening the door.
“Damn it!” Yang Dongqing clenched his fists, fury rising. He’d already been upset ever since leaving the cellar, and now that the Nightmare creature had taken Moli’s form, he was livid.
Outside the window, Moli’s face was full of fear and panic. She kept banging on the glass. “Yang Dongqing! Yang Dongqing! I’m so scared. Where is this place?”
“Shut up, you monster!” Yang Dongqing growled lowly.
Moli’s face paled, her expression shattered. “What are you saying, Yang Dongqing? I’m not a monster. I’m Moli! Don’t you recognize me? I went to find you earlier and saw you all unconscious. I tried to wake you, but then I blacked out too. When I woke up, I was here.”
Yang Dongqing froze, then snapped his gaze toward Su Mu, murderous intent spilling from his eyes. “You dragged Moli into this too!?”
Facing the fury of a Transcendent, Su Mu smiled with interest. “Fascinating. Not only does it have shape-shifting ability, but it can also partially read thoughts. And most importantly, it comes with an IQ-lowering aura.”
“Answer me!!” Yang Dongqing roared like a furious beast, striding up to Su Mu, fists clenched as if ready to smash his skull in the next second.
Su Mu remained calm, speaking slowly, “Oh, foolish man. Before you rage, maybe think for a second—what floor are we on?”
Yang Dongqing shuddered and some rationality returned to his eyes. He quickly walked to the window and stared at Moli. “How did you get up here?”
“I climbed, of course! Why are you being so mean, Yang Dongqing? Let me in already.”
“Climbed? Moli is so delicate, and this three-story house is covered in moss. How could you possibly climb up here?! And how did you know exactly which room I was in? You monster!”
Moli looked heartbroken. Her face full of sorrow, teardrops fell like pearls. She clutched her chest tightly. “Yang Dongqing, why don’t you believe me?”
Su Mu watched with amusement. He thought this fake Moli’s acting was even better than the real one.
Swoosh!
Yang Dongqing yanked the curtain shut, ignoring her completely.
But the next moment, Su Mu pulled the curtain open again.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m curious about the behavioral patterns of these monsters. Also, I want to see just how far she’ll go to fool me into opening the door.” Su Mu smiled calmly.
Yang Dongqing shot him a cold glare and turned away, not wanting to see any of it.
“Yang Dongqing, Yang Dongqing…” Moli called out anxiously.
“Miss Moli, his heart is as cold and iron-like as his body. But I’m different. I’ve always been softhearted, especially when it comes to women crying. Why don’t you try begging me instead?” Su Mu smiled. This monster had a power to charm the heart, a skill he didn’t have—and one he was interested in learning.
Maybe his words caught the monster’s attention, because Moli stopped calling out to Yang Dongqing and turned her gaze toward Su Mu.
But in those large eyes, a flicker of confusion appeared.
Su Mu narrowed his eyes. ‘So… she can’t read my thoughts? Seems like strong mental resistance is useful after all.’
Moli’s confusion only lasted a moment before she put away the tears and gave a seductive smile. Her white teeth gently bit her lip, and without warning, she began undressing.
“Am I beautiful?”
“Damn it!!” Yang Dongqing exploded, “Pick it up! Pick up your clothes!”
Swoosh!
The curtain was pulled shut once more.
Su Mu pondered. ‘So, when she couldn’t read my thoughts, she resorted to the most direct and crude method—seduction?’
As his eyes shifted slightly, a thought formed. He spoke toward the Moli behind the curtain, “I desire transcendence. If you can help me become a Transcendent, I’ll let you in.”
Even the enraged Yang Dongqing was stunned. ‘Is he treating a nightmare monster like a damn wishing turtle?!’
“Don’t be so shocked. If she wants in that badly, then it’s not unreasonable to ask for a little something in return, right?” Su Mu shrugged.
Behind the curtain, Moli fell silent and didn’t respond for a long time.
Su Mu raised an eyebrow and used his cane to lift the curtain—only to find she was gone.
Damn it!
Knock knock knock…
This time, it was the sound of knocking on the door.
“Mr. Su, are you alright? I thought I heard some noise.” Ye Fanyu’s voice came from outside.
“I’m fine. Just had a visit from a villager. It’s gone now.”
“That’s good. By the way, Mr. Su, I’ve made some new discoveries about this nightmare. May I come in to discuss them?”
“Of course.” Su Mu glanced at Yang Dongqing, signaling him.
Yang Dongqing curled his lip in annoyance, walked over to the door, and turned the knob. With a creak, the door slowly opened…
ROAR!
A savage, inhuman howl rang out. The half-open door was suddenly slammed open with a loud bang as a hideous figure lunged at Yang Dongqing. The immense force knocked him to the ground, and sharp fangs went straight for his throat.
