Legend Management Bureau Chapter 145
The law of creation[ … words ]

“Eh?”
Du Yu was taken aback. He never expected Qu Xi’s idea to be using the powers of Izanagi and Izanami to erase her own memories.
“Theoretically, it is possible.” Shiranui Asuka gave Qu Xi a slight bow. “You must be Sister Qu Xi, right? In theory, as long as Izanagi or Izanami tells you to please forget the past, your memories will be wiped clean. However…”
“What’s wrong? Is it going to be difficult?”
Shiranui Asuka whispered, “As I mentioned earlier… the two Gods of Creation have minds as pure as children. Because of this, their Art of Mind Manifestation can only alter or create simple, easily understood things. Erasing memories is a bit too complex… I’m afraid they might not understand the concept…”
“That doesn’t sound right, Asuka…” Du Yu muttered in confusion. “You said their minds were like children, but you never said their IQs were like children…”
“Anyway… it amounts to the same thing…” Shiranui Asuka offered a silly smile. “Does anyone have any more questions about this legend?”
“Questions my foot!” Du Yu snapped in exasperation. “You haven’t explained anything at all!”
“Eh?!” Asuka blinked, stunned. “What did I forget to say?”
“Oh, right, right, right!” Realization finally dawned on Shiranui Asuka. “Hehe, I really did forget to mention that…”
“Sigh…” Du Yu pinched the bridge of his nose. “Asuka, are you really up for this?”
“Why wouldn’t I be… I…” Shiranui Asuka suddenly thought of something and pointed at him. “Senior Du Yu! You’re always making fun of me, so this time, why don’t you guess what went wrong with our legend?”
“Guess?” Du Yu was on the verge of dying from sheer anger. They were supposed to rely on guesswork for something this important?
He narrowed his eyes and carefully pondered the details of the legend Shiranui Asuka had just recounted. It only took him one mental review to pinpoint the glaring issue.
“I got it…” Du Yu declared. “You just said that Izanagi and Izanami were the Gods of Creation who appeared when Fusang was completely empty.”
“Correct.” Shiranui Asuka nodded.
“Yet, they received a decree from a higher God to go and propagate humanity,” Du Yu continued. “If Fusang was completely empty, then theoretically, there shouldn’t have been any other Gods around to give them orders.”
“Senior Du Yu… you really are incredibly smart.” Shiranui Asuka offered a bitter smile. “It took us Fusang people a very long time to realize this discrepancy. All the legends record that it was God who instructed Izanami and Izanagi to propagate the human race. But when we look back at the myth, we find that these two were the only solitary Gods of Creation in all of Fusang. Since this overseeing God didn’t exist, there wouldn’t have been anyone to guide them.”
“So the objective of our mission this time is set,” Du Yu deduced. “We just need to carefully play the role of God.”
Having agreed on their strategy, the group walked over to the monitors.
Du Yu, Qu Xi, and Shiranui Asuka lay down on the teleportation devices. Ying Ning transformed into a streak of green light and darted into the brush, while Zhan Qisheng subtly channeled his magic.
The surrounding immortals widened their eyes in surprise. Was this the grand finale? The Legend Management Bureau was actually dispatching three people at once?
Lying on the device, Qu Xi felt a knot of nervousness in her stomach. She had only come here to take a casual look around, so how did she end up on active duty so quickly?
To ease her tension, she had to find someone to talk to.
“Du Yu, you are a complete fraud,” Qu Xi blurted out.
“Eh???” Du Yu glanced around wildly. “Miss Qu Xi, how exactly did I offend you?”
“You haven’t read a single word of the materials Little Qi and I worked so hard to compile, have you?” Qu Xi said, taking a deep breath. “We slaved away organizing that data for two whole days, and you’re still completely clueless about these legends.”
“I…”
Du Yu had no defense. Qu Xi was right. He had been so terribly distracted over the past few days that he genuinely hadn’t reviewed the documents properly.
“That’s my fault, I admit it,” Du Yu sighed. “I’ll make sure to study properly from now on.”
“Huh?” Qu Xi’s heart was racing. “Don’t apologize, argue with me!”
“Hah?” Du Yu was completely baffled. “Why on earth would I argue with you?”
“I’m really nervous…” Qu Xi confessed. “Arguing with someone is the only way I can distract myself.”
“Damn…” Du Yu shook his head in disbelief. “I never imagined your thought process would be even weirder than mine…”
…
Time: The Ancient Era.
Location: Fusang Domain, Takamagahara.
Cast: The Descent of the Gods.
The moment the group opened their eyes, they felt a wave of intense seasickness.
The ground beneath their feet wobbled and swayed, making them feel as if they were standing on a boat. Upon closer inspection, it wasn’t a landmass at all, but rather a massive patch of turf floating on the surface of the ocean.
Two figures stood on the turf, a man and a woman. They looked as if they hadn’t groomed themselves in ages; their hair was a messy tangle, their faces were covered in grime, and their meager clothing barely covered their bodies.
“This?” Du Yu stared in shock. “This is the Fusang Divine Realm, Takamagahara?”
“That’s right!” Shiranui Asuka puffed out her chest with pride. “According to the legends, Takamagahara is a realm that floats on the sea… Blargh!!”
Before she could even finish her sentence, she violently threw up all over the ground.
The rest of the group froze. Shiranui Asuka wiped her mouth, looked up, and continued as if nothing had happened. “A landmass floating on the sea. At this point in time, Fusang has no islands whatsoever, and those two people are… Blargh!!!”
Shiranui Asuka proceeded to empty her stomach for a good while longer, leaving the others staring in awkward silence.
“Those two are Izanagi and Izanami. The very first thing we need to do is quite simple, we just need to… Blargh!!!”
“Asuka… why don’t you finish throwing up before you speak.” Du Yu grimaced, his face turning a little green. “Watching you do that is making me want to puke too.”
“I’m fine, I’m just a little bit… Blargh!!”
Seeing this, Qu Xi’s nervousness vanished completely. She instinctively took a step back. “Asuka, you’re from Fusang, an island nation, and yet you get seasick…?”
Asuka wiped her mouth, lifted her head, and wheezed, “Sister Qu Xi, you shouldn’t call me Asuka. According to Fusang etiquette, you should call me Shiranui, or Little Shiranui… Blargh!!”
“Alright, alright, that’s enough!” Du Yu hurriedly patted Shiranui Asuka on the back. “How long are you going to keep throwing up? This place isn’t very big to begin with. If you keep puking everywhere, we won’t have anywhere left to stand.”
In the distance, the man and woman finally noticed the group that had descended from the sky. They slowly walked over, and the man excitedly clapped his hands. “Sister, look! They must be Gods!”
“Wow, you’re right, brother! They’re Gods, they’re Gods!” Izanami cheered, eagerly clapping her hands in agreement.
Du Yu was dumbfounded. This man and woman really were a bit too pure for their own good.
“Asuka, we’ve made contact with them. What’s the first step?”
“We need to give them a spear and have them stir the chaotic seawater, and then… Blargh!!!”
Du Yu felt like he was going to lose his mind. Shiranui Asuka was the only person he could rely on here, but she couldn’t even manage to string a coherent sentence together right now.
“Uhm! Hey, you two!” Du Yu quickly raised his voice. “Don’t speak just yet!”
Hearing this command, Izanagi and Izanami immediately dropped to their knees and clamped their mouths shut.
“I have a task for you…” Du Yu frantically glanced around. The place was completely barren. Where was he supposed to find a spear?
Just then, a long, slender piece of driftwood floated by on the chaotic sea. Du Yu quickly ran over and scooped it up.
“Quick, Old Zhan, use your wind blade to sharpen this piece of wood.”
“Sharpen it?” Zhan Qisheng gave him a bewildered look. “You’re going to use this as a spear? Who are you trying to fool?”
“Ugh! This is an emergency, just hurry up and do it!”
Zhan Qisheng shook his head in resignation. With a wave of his hand, he whittled the piece of wood into a sharp wooden spike.
“Ahem!” Holding this makeshift spear, Du Yu marched back to the kneeling pair and declared, “I command you to go and stir the seawater right now… and then… and then…”
Du Yu looked back over his shoulder at Shiranui Asuka, hoping she could chime in and help him out, but she was already puking her guts out into the abyss.
‘Sigh, I guess I’m on my own,’ Du Yu thought. He closed his eyes slightly to try and recall the legend of Izanagi. He remembered that the two of them had supposedly given birth to many islands.
“Take this spear. Use it to stir the seawater, and then… boom, bam, a bunch of different islands will appear.” Du Yu forced a stiff smile, having no idea if they had understood a word he just said.
Izanagi and Izanami looked up, their eyes sparkling with brilliant enthusiasm.
“Understood!” The two eagerly accepted the spear and scurried over to the edge of the turf, plunging it into the chaotic sea and stirring vigorously.
‘These two are actually really easy to deal with,’ Du Yu thought to himself. He barely made any sense, yet they had somehow grasped his meaning perfectly.
But what was the next step? How was he supposed to make them give birth to islands?
He watched as the two haphazardly churned the seawater with their piece of wood.
“Brother, what are we holding?” Izanami asked.
“We are holding a spear,” Izanagi replied.
The instant those words left his mouth, the entire wooden stick underwent a miraculous transformation. The grain of the wood refined itself, shifting and coalescing until it morphed into an exquisitely crafted spear.
“Holy crap!” Du Yu finally saw the Art of Mind Manifestation with his own eyes. As long as they believed the object in their hands was a spear, it became a spear.
“It really is a spear!” Izanami cheered gleefully.
It didn’t take long before they thrust the spear deep into the seabed, striking against something solid. They hurriedly pulled it back up to inspect it. A single clump of mud had stuck to the tip of the spear. This clump of mud slowly dripped down, and miraculously, it floated on the surface of the sea.
“Sister, what is this?” Izanagi stared curiously at the clump of mud.
“Brother, God declared it! This is an island!”
The second Izanami spoke those words, a majestic, boundless power rippled outward from the mud. Right before everyone’s eyes, the clump of mud rapidly expanded in the wind, growing endlessly until it formed a colossal island. Following close behind, lush vegetation blanketed the terrain, towering trees took root, and vibrant flowers bloomed in abundance.
Du Yu and the others were dumbstruck with shock. Did magic of this magnitude truly exist?
“Wow, brother, it really is an island!” Izanami clapped her hands in sheer joy. “What is this island’s name?”
“This is an island formed from the accumulation of mud, so it shall be called Onogoro Island, sister.”
