Legend Management Bureau Chapter 324
Mind thought technique[ … words ]
[ … words ]
Zhan Qisheng was in a daze. He knew that no matter how profound Nuwa’s cultivation was, it should be impossible for her to pierce his chest with such devastating power without him noticing at all.
Just what in the world was going on?
“Little Zhan!!!!!” Ying Ning screamed, accelerating as she flew toward Zhan Qisheng.
Behind him, the three monks were entirely terrified by the sight before them. They abruptly turned around and fled in panic.
“Great Pivots who disrupt the world…” Nuwa said slowly. “Halt.”
The moment the word ‘Halt’ left her lips, the three monks froze in place, completely unable to move a single muscle!
“W-What is happening?!” The three monks stared at their own bodies in sheer disbelief. It did not feel like any magical power was restricting them, yet they simply could not move.
“You all deserve death,” Nuwa uttered once more.
As soon as she declared their death, a massive, gaping hole instantly appeared in the chests of the three monks, identical to the wound Zhan Qisheng had suffered.
Her entire body trembled slightly, completely overcome with panic.
Ying Ning finally reached Zhan Qisheng’s side. Her hands were shaking violently as well, but her mind remained relatively clear. With a slight twitch of her fingers, she instantly manifested a crystalline flower of ice over Zhan Qisheng’s chest.
The ice flower fused with Zhan Qisheng’s flesh, temporarily staunching the bleeding.
Even so, large tears cascaded down Ying Ning’s face.
She could clearly see that Zhan Qisheng no longer had a ‘heart.’ The only reason he was still standing was out of sheer willpower in his dying moments.
“L-Little Zhan…” Ying Ning was so overwhelmed with anxiety that she was completely at a loss for what to do. Her expression had completely broken down; her fury, her hatred, her agony, and her sorrow all converged on her face at this very moment.
Had she known this day would come, she would have reconciled with him much sooner. Losing him like this would be the greatest regret of her life.
“Ying Ning… hurry and run…” Zhan Qisheng’s lips barely moved as he weakly urged. “It is the ‘Mind Thought Technique’…!”
Zhan Qisheng finally understood. They had been overlooking a fatal detail all along.
Since Nuwa was capable of creating living humans out of thin air using ‘mud’, she was undoubtedly a user of the ‘Mind Thought Technique’. Just like Izanagi, she could turn whatever she imagined into reality wherever she went.
However, she was different from Izanagi. She was utterly ruthless and decisively lethal, skillfully wielding the ‘Mind Thought Technique’ to obliterate her enemies. What was even more terrifying was that her mind was far more mature than Izanagi’s.
They had wholeheartedly believed that as long as they summoned Nuwa, they could resolve the current crisis.
But in Nuwa’s eyes, Zhan Qisheng, Ying Ning, the Seven Holy Heroes, and those black-clad monks were no different from one another—they were all Great Pivots.
As far as this world was concerned, they were all equally calamitous plagues.
Not only had they completely derailed the legend due to their existence as Great Pivots, but they had also led the Yanhuang tribe to crash into Buzhou Mountain together.
They were, in essence, the prime culprits behind this entire mess.
Why would Nuwa ever let people like them off the hook?
All the strength vanished from the three monks’ bodies. Like three black meteors falling from the sky, they plummeted and smashed heavily into the ground.
The remaining monks immediately scattered and fled in all directions, no longer caring about the battlefield before them.
Meanwhile, the numerous monks of the Yanhuang tribe fell to their knees in worship, gazing up in awe at the majestic presence of the Great Goddess Nuwa.
“You damned Nuwa!” Ying Ning roared furiously. “How dare you hurt Little Zhan?!”
As soon as her voice faded, a massive cluster of ice crystals condensed around Ying Ning. Looking like a vicious blizzard, she shot toward Nuwa accompanied by the howling wind.
“Ying Ning! No!” Zhan Qisheng and Dong Qianqiu roared in unison, but Ying Ning had already launched her attack.
Nuwa slightly raised her eyes. Looking at the sky full of snow and wind, she stated flatly, “It should not be this cold here.”
In an instant, Ying Ning’s blizzard completely dissolved into mist, and the surrounding temperature sharply spiked.
Ying Ning surged her magical power, attempting to freeze the mist back into frost, but her hands could only spew out bursts of scorching steam.
“Ying Ning!!! Run away!!” Zhan Qisheng roared. “There’s no way we can beat her…”
The crowd on the ground stared blankly up at the sky, filled with confusion and doubt.
Why were those two, who had been fighting the black monks all this time, suddenly attacking Nuwa?
Could it be that their true target had been Nuwa right from the start?
Watching the chaos in the sky, the Seven Holy Heroes simultaneously sent voice transmissions to Xiao Qi.
If there was even a glimmer of hope, they were absolutely determined to save their former friends.
“Xiao Qi, how can we save them?!”
“I… I will now relay the orders from ‘Saint’…” Xiao Qi said, her tone both sorrowful and grim. “Zhan Qisheng and Ying Ning are beyond saving. We cannot risk any further casualties. Everyone is to abandon the mission and prepare for extraction.”
The expressions of the Seven Holy Heroes instantly dimmed, but there was nothing they could do.
Now that Zhan Qisheng and Ying Ning were up against Nuwa, this was no longer a matter they could interfere with.
Without drawing any attention, the seven individuals slipped away from the crowd and moved to the side, quietly waiting to be recalled.
Far away on Dragon Ancestor Island, Du Yu was currently bombarding Xiao Qi with questions regarding the progress at Buzhou Mountain.
But Xiao Qi merely stammered in response, completely unable to bring herself to tell him the truth.
“Did something happen?!” Du Yu demanded loudly. “What exactly went wrong? Tell me!”
Xiao Qi held it in for a long time before she finally forced out an agonizing sentence.
“Zhan Qisheng is likely going to perish.”
“Wh…” Du Yu froze in place as if he had been struck by a bolt of lightning from a clear blue sky. Every word he wanted to say was caught in his throat.
He knew he could not afford to break down right now; he had to deal with the immediate aftermath. With that in mind, Du Yu ruthlessly slapped himself across the face three times.
Forcing himself to snap out of it, he said to Xiao Qi, “Do everything in your power to save Ying Ning!”
Right after, he turned his head to Liu Ling and said, “Liu Ling, I need you to do me a favor.”
“What is it?”
“Ying Ning’s ‘vessel’ is still with Old Zhan. If Old Zhan… if he…” Du Yu gritted his teeth, finding it incredibly difficult to force the words out no matter what. He paused for a moment before continuing, “If he can’t make it back, I need you to bring Ying Ning back for me.”
“I…” Liu Ling faltered, his expression growing serious. “Alright, I understand.”
“Xiao Qi, activate an emergency recall for Liu Ling and send him straight to Buzhou Mountain!”
…
Ying Ning’s magic was completely ineffective. No matter how much magical power she poured into her spells, the resulting ice would only turn into scorching steam.
Meanwhile, Nuwa merely stood there motionless, staring coldly at Ying Ning.
Seeing Nuwa’s nonchalant expression did absolutely nothing to quell the hatred burning in Ying Ning’s heart. Countless traces of resentment gradually materialized into swirling clusters of black mist, and a sinister, ruthless aura began to radiate from her features.
“Becoming a demon?” Nuwa arched a brow. “You cannot do that.”
With a single sentence, the black mist shrouding Ying Ning vanished in an instant, and all her gathered strength was completely depleted.
Nuwa was currently looking at Ying Ning as though she were toying with a mere ant. She then let out a cold sneer and asked, “Does your chest hurt?”
The moment she spoke, Ying Ning felt as though her chest had suffered a devastating blow. She violently coughed up a large mouthful of blood.
“Can your hands still move?” Nuwa asked next.
With a sickening series of cracks, Ying Ning’s arms snapped in response, and she unleashed a bloodcurdling scream.
