Dong Qianqiu smiled bitterly and tapped on a screen. A few words prominently appeared on the display:

“Huh?” Du Yu was slightly taken aback, but his interest was immediately piqued. “Haha, so that’s how it is. We’ve all become figures in a legend?”

Dong Qianqiu also smiled and nodded. “This might be a miraculous sight that we will never witness again in our lifetimes. You are the protagonist of this legend, and within this legend, you constantly enter other legends.”

“That sounds rather complicated,” Du Yu agreed with a nod. Then, suddenly thinking of something, he asked, “Sister Qianqiu, what is the ending of this legend?”

Dong Qianqiu manipulated the display screen, opening the legend.

The beginning of the legend showed a young man getting struck and killed by a bus, descending into Hell, and experiencing a series of stories filled with both laughter and tears.

Every single legend seemed vivid and lifelike.

What caught Du Yu’s attention were several distinct black screens that appeared while fast-forwarding the footage, as if the legend had been interrupted.

He thought back carefully and realized that those interruptions must have occurred when he encountered Time.

Du Yu stayed silent, pretending he hadn’t noticed.

Dong Qianqiu continued to fast-forward the footage until after the legends of Gonggong and Nüwa, where the video paused.

At this moment, the footage showed the present Du Yu and Dong Qianqiu. The two were currently looking at the screens in the Legend Management Bureau. The screen within the footage contained another screen, zooming in endlessly, layer by layer, in an infinite loop.

Du Yu was taken aback. “Why does this look like a security camera feed? Is this the ending?”

Dong Qianqiu gently shook her head. “Of course not. This is just how far the plot has progressed. The scene on the screen will follow your development and continue to extend indefinitely. In other words, even though this story doesn’t have an ending yet, it has already become a legend.”

Hearing Dong Qianqiu’s words, Du Yu let out a wry smile.

Dong Qianqiu suddenly shifted the topic, asking, “Du Yu, do you ever feel that… as a mortal, you have already done more than enough?”

Du Yu frowned slightly and said, “Sister Qianqiu, say no more. Let’s drop this topic.”

It was almost comical. This was something Nüwa could have easily accomplished just by speaking a word, yet she stubbornly refused to open her mouth.

It seemed that while Nüwa’s true nature was slightly more mature than that of Izanagi and his sister, she was still far too pure. She was so innocent that she had no idea how to skillfully utilize her abilities to handle the crisis at hand. Instead, under Fuxi’s guidance, she had only become adept at using those powers to kill.

Du Yu knew that Nüwa’s current actions were for the sake of all living beings in the world, yet looking at her face, he simply couldn’t bring himself to feel happy.

She was the one who completely shattered the final string holding Du Yu’s heart together.

She was the one who had murdered Zhan Qisheng and Ying Ning.

She was the one who made Du Yu realize that he was, after all, a Great Pivot.

It was truly laughable. The Legend Management Bureau existed to intervene in legends and eliminate Great Pivots.

“Is that so?” Dong Qianqiu asked, intrigued. “I thought it was an issue with Baxia. His own father was murdered, yet he showed no concern whatsoever.”

Du Yu just smiled, offering no further explanation.

However, the scene on the screen made him pause once again.

Whatever Nüwa had said to Baxia, she actually used her bare hand to slice off one of his legs and then tossed it into the sky.

The turtle leg expanded and lengthened rapidly, much like a divine pillar anchoring the sea. One end planted firmly on the ground, while the other pierced straight through the clouds.

Not long after, a muffled thud echoed from the end that vanished into the clouds, as if it had propped against something massive.

A glimmer of pleasant surprise flashed in Nüwa’s eyes. Following that, she successively severed Baxia’s remaining three legs and hurled them into the air one by one.

The four legs took the place of Buzhou Mountain, becoming the new pillars of heaven.

The originally sagging sky was now mostly restored.

Du Yu observed Baxia’s expression again; it seemed as though he had willingly offered himself up for this.

However, without his legs, Baxia was now nothing more than an empty shell, resting blankly on the ground, completely immobilized.

Nüwa seemed to feel a pang of pity. Her lips moved silently as if asking him a question.

Baxia turned his head to look out at the sea.

Nüwa understood. With a wave of her hand, she transformed Baxia’s missing four legs into flippers, making him look exactly like the sea turtles commonly seen in the modern world.

Du Yu was dumbfounded. He muttered to himself, “Good heavens… If Yinglong is the Dragon Ancestor, then that makes this Baxia the Sea Turtle Ancestor.”
