Legend Management Bureau Chapter 390
No way to retreat[ … words ]
[ … words ]
In this timeline, only Saint remained.
A wave of loneliness he hadn’t experienced in decades surged in his heart.
“Du Yu! Watch out for that giant Buddha! Can you hear me?!” Saint repeatedly slammed his hands against the screen, but the Du Yu on the monitor showed no reaction.
Saint lacked the physical constitution of a Voice Transmitter, so his voice could not cross through time to reach Du Yu on the Battlefield.
But if he didn’t stop him, everything would hurtle toward destruction.
After hesitating over and over, Saint came up with one final method.
He reached out and drew a circle in the air, but the ring flickered twice before collapsing.
‘Are my injuries too severe… Is that why I can’t use my power…’
He walked over to the descent apparatus, turned the equipment on himself, put on the helmet, and lay down on the bed.
Saint prepared to personally travel to Du Yu’s timeline.
It didn’t matter if they both lost their combat capabilities.
It didn’t matter even if they were both annihilated.
He had to intercept him before this war spiraled into an even worse ending.
And Saint himself knew it well.
With this descent, there would never be anyone to summon him back.
……
Du Yu shook his numb, aching arm and said, “It seems none of these abilities will work.”
Mahakala fell silent for a moment before speaking coldly, “I advise you not to waste your effort. Whether it’s your Five Elements techniques, Time Magic, or Immortal power, none of it will have the slightest effect on me.”
“True,” Du Yu nodded. “I just didn’t want to give up, so I tested all their abilities. If these powers were effective, those Immortal Beings down there would have defeated you long ago.”
“Give up,” Mahakala added. “If you surrender now, it will be better for everyone.”
As soon as he spoke, Du Yu flew directly to the top of Mahakala’s head, planting his feet firmly as he landed.
“Big Black, you deliberately didn’t mention it just now, so I pretended not to know either.” Du Yu smiled. “But you didn’t think I’d actually forgotten, did you?”
With that, Du Yu reached out his hand, channeling a strange and wondrous power.
“This power inside me might not be suited for combat, but it just might work miracles. I should have realized it sooner. Every black monk can use Illusion Transformation to create a giant black Buddha, but those black Buddhas aren’t physical bodies. The true physical body is encased inside this hard shell.”
Du Yu placed his hand on top of Mahakala’s head and lightly drew a circle, instantly opening a Portal.
“Chada’s Portal can travel anywhere in the past or present. Now, I’m opening a path into the space inside your body to see what kind of monster your true form really is.”
Mahakala’s expression finally changed. He immediately reached up, clawing at Du Yu on his head, but without another word, Du Yu plummeted directly into the Portal.
“Du Yu!! You will regret this!!”
……
After entering the Portal, Du Yu steadied his gaze, only to find the interior of the giant Buddha completely pitch-black.
He felt as if he were floating in the vast expanse of the universe, without a single glimmer of light.
‘Strange… The inside of this big lug is actually this huge?’
Du Yu flew silently for a while and quickly lost his bearings. After thinking it over repeatedly, he returned to where the Portal was and closed it.
Although it was unlikely anyone would enter, it was better to play it safe.
Trying to find Mahakala’s true form within this pitch-black body felt like looking for a needle in a haystack; it certainly wouldn’t be easy.
“Du Yu!”
Mahakala’s thunderous voice echoed all around Du Yu. “If you continue to wander inside my body, I will slaughter every single person you hold dear!”
Du Yu gritted his teeth and roared back, “Big Black! What kind of situation do you think we’re in?! It’s either you die or I die! Your petty threats are useless now!”
With that, he accelerated, continuing his meticulous search inside the giant Buddha.
Suddenly, a burst of light flared before his eyes.
The brilliance stung Du Yu’s eyes, forcing them shut. It took a long while before he could gradually make out what the light was.
To his surprise, it was Mahakala’s own field of vision.
In the projected scene, Mahakala reached out once again, grabbing A Can and A Kui in his massive hand.
“Du Yu! This is your last chance!”
A Can and A Kui possessed bodies far tougher than ordinary men. Even after being dragged over by such tremendous force, they hadn’t passed out.
The two exchanged a glance, then bit into their own wrists. Casting some unknown spell, they let out simultaneous roars and transformed into two giant dragons, soaring into the sky.
Du Yu raised his brows, realizing the brothers must have learned a new trick at the Eastern Sea Dragon Palace. To think they could now transform into dragons at will.
A Can and A Kui bared vicious expressions. They opened their maws, instantly spewing out a massive torrent of dragon breath.
Mahakala shot them a disdainful look, then brought his colossal hand crashing downward from above.
The immense wind pressure from the palm sent the two giant dragons reeling.
“Insolent! Even the Demon King Sun Wukong couldn’t escape this palm strike. What can two hatchlings like you possibly do?!”
The gigantic hand crashed down like a mountain, pinning the two heavily to the ground.
But Mahakala didn’t stop there. He repeatedly raised his palm and slammed it down again and again.
The terrifying impacts triggered a series of massive earthquakes. Only when A Can and A Kui were completely out of sight did he retract his hand, forming it back into a lotus mudra.
A sharp, fierce ache pierced Du Yu’s heart.
But now, he could no longer turn back.
If he missed this opportunity, there wouldn’t be a single sliver of hope left to kill Mahakala.
Soon after, Liu Ling and Xiao Nian also flew over, only to be crushed to death in Mahakala’s hand like insects.
“You bastard!”
Du Yu cursed loudly, then spun around, immediately using the illumination from the projection to search carefully.
Sure enough, with that faint glimmer of light, Du Yu spotted a clue.
Far off at the bottom, someone appeared to be meditating.
“Mahakala! I’ve caught you!”
Du Yu hesitated no longer, flying rapidly toward the silhouette.
Real panic finally set in for Mahakala. He immediately reached out, grabbing Shiranui Asuka and Jin Jianglang in his grip.
Seeing A’xiang, Du Yu could no longer suppress the rage boiling in his heart.
“Big Black! I’m warning you, don’t touch her!” Du Yu roared anxiously. “Your life is in my hands now! If you know what’s good for you, let A’xiang go!!!”
Mahakala stayed silent for a moment before speaking slowly, “Du Yu, you are right. It is either your death or mine. Threats no longer hold any weight.”
After he spoke, two massive fingers pinched together with slight force. That agonizing, heart-wrenching sound transmitted to Du Yu’s ears once again.
Du Yu squeezed his eyes shut tightly.
“Fine! Fine! You want to play ruthless with me?! If that’s how it is, let’s end this once and for all!”
As he spoke, Du Yu drew closer and closer to the figure.
And Mahakala reached his hand out toward the final member of the Seven Holy Heroes.
In a mere instant, Du Yu arrived right beside the figure.
At the exact same time, Xie Yujiao was yanked over by Mahakala.
This time, both Du Yu and Mahakala froze in sheer shock.
