Legend Management Bureau Chapter 391
You si and xie yujiao[ … words ]
[ … words ]
Right before Du Yu’s eyes sat a delicate and handsome young monk, looking to be only seven or eight years old.
The young monk’s knees were covered in blood, mangled as if they had been beaten to a pulp.
“This is… Mahakala…?” Du Yu murmured, his lips barely moving as he stared at the scene in sheer disbelief.
The little monk looked even more shocked. His fingers were pinched in a lotus mudra, but he stared fixedly at his own palm, as though some astonishing anomaly had just occurred upon it.
“Hey! Little novice, are you ready to die?!” Du Yu roared. “To think you slaughtered so many people! Watch me tear you to pieces!”
Yet the young monk paid Du Yu no mind. He continued to stare at his palm, muttering under his breath, “Mother?”
“Mother?”
Doubts sprouted in Du Yu’s mind. He turned his head toward the bright light not far away—that was exactly Mahakala’s field of vision.
Within that vision, Mahakala was cradling a person in his palm.
Xie Yujiao was enveloped in a bizarre black mist. Her eyes were tightly shut, as if she were enduring some agonizing transformation.
In mere moments, a majestic power surged violently within her, quickly replaced by an energy of extreme darkness and absolute evil.
Du Yu pondered for a brief second before realizing the crux of the issue.
Xie Yujiao was about to become You Si!
Although Du Yu had not personally witnessed Xie Yujiao’s transition into You Si, he knew the change was supposed to be gradual. Saint had kept Xie Yujiao by his side for decades before she finally metamorphosed into You Si.
So why was she suddenly transforming right now?
He watched as Xie Yujiao floated into midair, allowing that newly awakened power to roam freely through her body.
Just as this energy was about to seize total control, another force abruptly erupted from within her.
These two forces—one righteous, one evil—clashed relentlessly inside her, as if fighting for dominance over her mortal vessel.
Xie Yujiao was thrown back and forth by the impact of the dueling energies, continuously letting out muffled groans of pain.
In the very next instant, the two powers unexpectedly fought to a standstill. They settled on the left and right sides of her body, completely deadlocked, neither able to shake the other.
Xie Yujiao jerked her head up. The clothes on her body had actually split perfectly down the middle into black and white.
One side was the pristine white of the Xie family, and the other was the abyssal black of You Si.
Her entire aura of good and evil reached a bizarre and delicate critical point.
She slowly opened her eyes, and her gaze carried an ancient, primordial aura.
Du Yu snapped out of his daze. He knew this was not the time to worry about the issue of You Si. Victory was right before his eyes; he absolutely could not let his guard down.
He reached out, channeling Zhongli Chun’s power, and hurled a fierce strike toward the little novice.
But before his fist could even come close, a black protective barrier flared up around the young monk, catching Du Yu’s punch perfectly.
“Still resisting?!”
Du Yu continuously channeled more strength into his hands, violently battering the shield.
Meanwhile, in the projection, You Si slowly spoke up.
“Little monk, what are you doing?” she asked.
Mahakala’s tone grew frantic as he hurriedly replied, “Mother! Just as we agreed! I am creating a new world! A world where you can live together with us forever!”
You Si looked down at the battlefield below, where corpses littered the ground and rivers of blood flowed, and could not help but sigh.
“Little monk, you want to live together with me, yet instead of changing yourself, you seek to change the entire world?”
“Change myself?” Mahakala froze for a moment. “Mother, didn’t you say that if this world became a place that could accept everyone… you would be willing to live with me forever? Don’t you want to help all the people trapped in suffering?”
“Help those in suffering…?” You Si mused for a moment before saying, “I did indeed say those words, but are you truly helping those in suffering?”
“Of course! Mother!” Mahakala looked toward the black-clad monks in the distance, speaking as if eager to claim credit. “I gathered all the will of suffering from the entire Western Pure Land, saving them just as you once saved me. I will join them to create the supreme Ultimate Darkness! Together, we will create a world that can accommodate you, Mother, a world that can accommodate us all!”
Hearing this, Du Yu felt that something was amiss.
Mahakala respected You Si far more than he had imagined.
Yet in the legend of Nuwa Repairs the Sky, those monks had explicitly stated, “Under the orders of Mahakala, we are to kill Mother.”
You Si peered into Mahakala’s eyes, as if she had suddenly realized something, and asked, “Who gave you this idea?”
“What?”
“With your temperament, even if you are somewhat brutal, you wouldn’t go so far as to raise an army and invade the Immortal Realm. Who has been fanning the flames behind your back?”
Mahakala paused, then confessed, “It was Subhuti.”
“Subhuti?” Du Yu furrowed his brows. Wasn’t that He Suoyi?
“Never mind.” You Si seemed to understand a little better now. “Little monk, withdraw your troops.”
“Huh?” Mahakala was stunned. “Mother, what are you saying? We are on the verge of success…”
“Little monk, if we are the only ones left in this world, then what kind of ‘world’ is this?” You Si shook her head, speaking thoughtfully. “The Buddha said that a thousand small worlds make up a ‘medium thousand-world’, and a thousand medium worlds make up a ‘great thousand-world’. If out of all these three thousand worlds, there is only me and you all, what use is it? What I want is for the people of the world to accept us. I want outcasts like us to be able to walk in the sunlight, go where we want to go, and love who we want to love. That is all.”
Listening to You Si’s words, Du Yu turned back to look at the little novice in front of him.
He suddenly realized that tears were streaming down the young monk’s face. His state of mind appeared to be incredibly unstable.
Du Yu no longer hesitated. He channeled power into his right hand, gathering the strength of everyone except Xing Tian, and ruthlessly slapped the little monk across the face.
This time, the protective barrier failed to activate, and the little monk was sent flying by Du Yu’s blow.
In an instant, Du Yu felt the world spin around him.
It turned out that the entire colossal Buddha statue moved in unison with the little monk, and it was sent flying backward as well.
The myriad Immortal Beings on the battlefield widened their eyes in absolute terror at the sight.
Someone had actually knocked away this colossal Buddha? What kind of heaven-defying divine strength was that?!
The flying Buddha crashed through numerous buildings in its path, reducing a full third of the Underworld to rubble.
You Si frowned and flew straight toward the fallen Buddha, demanding, “Who is inside?!”
Du Yu was stunned, completely unsure of what to make of the current situation.
The person before him was clearly You Si, yet something felt different. If she knew he was brutally beating up her beloved ‘son’, wouldn’t she step in to stop him?
Du Yu decided to ignore You Si for the moment and focus on killing the little monk first.
But You Si pressed herself directly against Mahakala’s pupil. Slapping the surface, she cried out anxiously:
“Du Yu! Are you in there?!”
“Huh?!” Du Yu froze in his tracks.
