Legend Management Bureau Chapter 415
The witch[ … words ]

Du Yu tumbled endlessly through the swirling vortex of space and time, completely disoriented and with no idea where he was.
It did not take long for him to finally open his eyes, only to find himself standing in the middle of a dense forest. Spotting You Si wandering a short distance away, he quickly hurried to catch up with her.
You Si simply walked forward aimlessly, continuing her meandering trek for three consecutive days.
And Du Yu quietly followed in her footsteps for just as long.
After all, he had absolutely no other options at the moment besides trailing behind You Si.
The scenery around them consisted of nothing but endless trees and thick underbrush, without even the faint semblance of a dirt path.
Du Yu did not feel physically tired, but he was certainly growing bored.
If You Si planned on walking forever, exactly how many years was he supposed to follow her?
Finally, on the afternoon of the fourth day, a small settlement appeared before them.
A fleeting hint of joy finally broke through You Si’s impassive expression, and she picked up her pace toward the village.
Du Yu quickened his own steps to keep up.
A muscular burly man was busy tanning leather at the entrance of the village. When he lifted his head, he immediately spotted the young woman in black approaching.
“Hmm?” the burly man grunted in confusion. “Which clan are you from? Are you looking for someone?”
You Si nodded. Without warning, her hand shot out and clamped around the burly man’s throat. “You. You will become the new ‘Time’.”
The burly man jolted in fright, but he quickly regained his senses. “What in the world is ‘Time’? Are you out of your mind, girl?”
You Si slowly tightened her iron grip. “I only asked if you would accept the role or not.”
The burly man began to struggle, his face flushing with anger. “Let go of me! Of course I won’t accept!”
You Si let out a cold scoff. With a casual twist of her wrist, the burly man’s neck snapped with a sickening crunch, and his massive body crumpled limply to the ground.
This horrific sight terrified the other villagers. They immediately brandished their crude stone weapons and quickly surrounded You Si in a defensive ring.
You Si calmly swept her gaze over the furious crowd. With a wave of her hands, a massive black runic formation materialized in the sky above. The formation slowly descended, enveloping both her and the entire village within its shadowy dome.
“Since you dare to point your weapons at me, none of you will be leaving today,” You Si scoffed coldly. She then issued her ultimatum. “I only need one of you to agree to become ‘Time’. If no one steps forward, you will all die.”
To the rest of the tribe, You Si was nothing more than an outright invader. And in the primitive society of this ancient era, there was no need to negotiate with invaders. Brutal violence was the only appropriate response.
Seeing that not a single person was willing to accept, You Si unleashed her full power. Within the confines of the massive black formation, blazing Fireballs danced through the air, mercilessly slaughtering every last villager until the entire tribe was wiped from existence.
“How utterly foolish,” You Si murmured slowly. “I merely asked you to agree to a single condition. Was that really so difficult?”
She flicked her sleeves with indifference, turned on her heel, and walked away.
Du Yu could only sigh helplessly as he trailed after her.
Finding a candidate for “Time” was a mission that was neither incredibly difficult nor particularly easy. It all came down to the methodology used.
Du Yu knew perfectly well that if he had been the Operator in charge of this Legend, he would have meticulously planned the best approach to accomplish the goal. He certainly would not have grabbed a random stranger off the street and demanded, “You must become ‘Time’.”
Unfortunately, Du Yu had no way to communicate with You Si, let alone offer her any of his clever ideas. He was forced to watch her handle things entirely according to her own volatile mood.
Over the following days, You Si traveled from one settlement to the next. However, every village she encountered treated her as an omen of disaster, invariably meeting her with hostility and drawn weapons.
And so, as she wandered from place to place, she left a trail of butchered corpses in her wake.
It was only then that she finally began to realize that finding a suitable candidate to become “Time” was not going to be quite as simple as she had initially thought.
On the thirteenth day, You Si arrived at a tribe that was completely different from the rest.
A massive banner emblazoned with a wolf’s head fluttered proudly in the center of the settlement. The people here were all physically imposing and exuded a fierce aura; regardless of whether they were men, women, children, or elders, they were all covered in battle scars.
It seemed that in this tribe, everyone was a born warrior.
You Si felt a sudden premonition. It was highly likely that she would find the next candidate for “Time” among these people.
An exceptionally tall man stood like a guardian at the entrance to the village. He was bare-chested, his wild hair flaring out vigorously around his head like roaring flames.
As Du Yu took a closer look, he noticed a horrifyingly deep scar carved across the man’s torso. The jagged line stretched diagonally from his right shoulder all the way down to his lower left abdomen. If an ordinary person had suffered such a devastating blow, they would have undoubtedly died on the spot.
Yet the man before him appeared entirely unaffected. Instead, he seemed to wear the gruesome scar like a badge of honor, serving only to make his imposing aura that much more terrifying.
“This guy definitely won’t be easy to deal with…” Du Yu muttered under his breath. He knew that in this primordial era, a time teeming with unparalleled warriors and strange abilities, You Si was bound to run into an opponent like this sooner or later.
The burly man stared intently at the black-clad woman. He looked as though he had been expecting her arrival, his expression exuding a natural, commanding authority even without a hint of anger.
A moment later, two little boys who appeared to be no more than two or three years old peeked out from behind the burly man’s thick legs. Despite their tender age, they glared at You Si with undisguised murderous intent.
The burly man rested his massive hands on the heads of the two boys and addressed You Si. “You’re the witch who has been slaughtering the neighboring tribes recently, aren’t you?”
“A ‘witch’?” You Si’s expression shifted drastically. “What part of me looks like a ‘witch’? My name is You Si!”
“You Si…” The burly man gave a slow nod. “I don’t know what drives you to massacre entire tribes, but you should realize that we are no ordinary clan. If you intend to attack us, it will not end well for you.”
The burly man had assumed that the woman was destroying settlements to pillage for “slaves” or “rations”, and hoped that showing his strength would force her to back down. To his surprise, his bold warning only seemed to make the woman look increasingly thrilled.
“The stronger you are, the more eager I am to visit,” You Si said with a chilling smile. “Hurry up and bring out your strongest warrior. I have a question to ask him!”
The moment her words fell, the two toddlers behind the burly man abruptly shattered the earth beneath their feet, launching themselves forward like cannonballs!
It was as if their tiny, infantile bodies contained an unimaginably terrifying reservoir of strength. Over the short distance between them and You Si, their sheer speed kicked up a howling gale.
You Si’s expression instantly frosted over. She prepared to strike, but suddenly the burly man lightly stamped his foot on the ground. The earth directly beneath the two children abruptly tilted upward like a seesaw, forcibly altering their trajectory.
The sudden shift launched the two boys off the end of the earthen seesaw, tossing them backward into the burly man’s waiting arms.
The burly man gently set the two toddlers back on the ground and addressed them in a firm tone. “You, Yao. You brothers are still too young. Showing such fearlessness today is more than enough.”
The child who looked slightly older scowled, pouting his lips as he retorted in a childish voice, “Father Chief! Little You is already a warrior! Little You can protect the tribe!”
As soon as the boy spoke, a large crowd of tribesmen surged forward to surround the entrance. While none of them possessed a presence quite as formidable as the burly man, every single one of them exuded an astonishing, battle-hardened aura.
The burly man handed his two young sons over to a robust, muscular woman nearby. He then turned back to face You Si, his gaze unwavering. “I am the chieftain of this tribe, and as such, I am the strongest warrior we have. I would like to propose an agreement with you.”
