At that moment, no one knew what was truly going through his mind, yet a brilliant smile appeared on his face, like that of a wanderer finally returning home.
His return immediately caused a sensation at Mount Ling. After all, up to now, Juexing was the only person who had ever escaped from the lands of the Eastern Land.
Everyone was curiously eyeing this man who had escaped death.
“Juexing, you have returned!” Upon receiving the news, a Buddha had already come to the foot of Mount Ling and exclaimed with joy upon seeing Juexing.
“It is I who have returned,” Juexing spoke wearily.
Having experienced such an ordeal and escaped death, weariness was only natural. Buddha nodded and said, “Go back and rest well first, we’ll look for you later.”
Juexing nodded lightly and walked into Mount Ling, heading towards his residence; he indeed needed a good rest.
It was not so much because he was tired, but rather to better conceal himself in front of the Various Buddhas.
After all, those were renowned masters in the Three Realms, and if they accidentally saw through the changes in his state of mind, death might be the only path awaiting him.
Fortunately, now he had encountered the Tathagata Buddha and had received much information he previously did not know, giving him some means to evade the scrutiny of the Various Buddhas.
And quickly, the news of his return was known to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas atop Mount Ling.
“Amitabha Buddha, well done, well done. It is truly remarkable that Juexing managed to escape death,” a Bodhisattva sighed and said.
When they had withdrawn from Two Realms Mountain back to Mount Ling, they had already resigned themselves to the fact that all these people might die in Dongsheng Shenzhou.
Because those who had seen that land knew better than anyone how difficult it was to escape from the capital of the Great Tang of the Eastern Land under such circumstances.
“Yes, out of three thousand disciples, only he alone escaped. Perhaps now he alone knows what actually happened on that land.”
“But he is very tired now. I let him go back to rest first; we will seek answers from him later.”
“This is only right. Being able to escape from such a situation proves his potential, and that can be considered our gain this time.”
Upon hearing this, many Buddhas also nodded in agreement. Indeed, this journey to the Eastern Land had exposed many issues within the Buddhist Sect, especially since the lack of sufficient challenges after becoming powerful meant that these new generations had not experienced actual life-and-death crises.
Therefore, when facing a crisis, they lacked the means and wisdom to cope, or else more than just Juexing would have escaped this time.
When the Buddhist Sect was first established, they faced a much more dangerous situation than in the Eastern Land. Even so, the ancestors of the Buddhist Sect still managed to forge a path of sunshine from the impossible, setting the foundation for what the Buddhist Sect is today.
“It seems that in the future, we will need to expose our disciples to more crises; otherwise, if this continues for a long time, our Buddhist Sect will only continue to weaken.” The Buddhas reached a consensus.
If there was any gain from this episode, it was perhaps their realization of the true crisis within the Buddhist Sect.
While the Buddhas were discussing fervently, the Juexing they spoke of, who seemed to have boundless potential, was at that moment sitting upright in his own room, eyes closed and resting his spirit.
However, in reality, his consciousness had traveled to a mysterious place.
It was dark everywhere; this was a world of chaos, seemingly lacking any distinction of up, down, left, or right.
“Is this Chaos Land, the place beyond the Three Realms?” Juexing muttered to himself.
His voice echoed in this dark world, instantly resounding throughout the entire world.
Juexing was struck dumb in an instant. What immense power this was—it was no wonder the knowledge he had gained told him that one could obtain the power to create worlds just by coming here.
It was precisely this place that had allowed Tathagata Buddha to break through that indescribable realm.
Now such an opportunity had fallen into his own hands. The next leader of the Buddhist Sect should rightfully be him.
“It seems the knowledge in my mind was not wrong, only the true ’See the Mind and Understand the Nature’ could come to this place and see Buddha as he originally was!” Juexing’s face showed an expression of wild joy.
His gaze carried a fervent heat as he greedily looked around.
The endless darkness around him appeared like precious treasures.
With a thought from Juexing, a speck of light emerged in this world. At first, it was just a faint point, but in an instant, it transformed into endless brilliance.
This dark world had its first trace of light.
“Hahaha, indeed!” laughed Juexing heartily.
At this moment, he felt like the creator god, capable of anything he desired in this world.
“It’s time, to create my Buddha Kingdom,” he said with a smile.
Suddenly, Juexing gently extended his hand, from which Buddha’s Light suddenly appeared, followed by a land mass appearing in his hand.
Buddha Kingdom in Palm, a unique skill that previously only a few powerful Buddhas could perform, was now effortlessly executed by Juexing.
With a gentle toss, a land shrouded in Buddha’s Light appeared out of nowhere in the darkness.
Juexing walked into the land, smiling as endless Golden Lotuses sprang forth under his feet, and he walked deeper into the land with each step on a Golden Lotus.
“I declare this to be Mount Ling!”
No sooner had the words left his mouth than a tall mountain rose from the ground, towering majestically. Spirit flowers blossomed everywhere, Spirit Beasts roamed, and Spiritual Energy surged covering Mount Ling, making it look no different from the external Mount Ling.
Juexing stepped onto the mountain, and all the creatures in the mountainside cheered and leaped in joy to greet their master’s arrival.
Juexing’s heart had never been so satisfied; he felt as if the great Dao of the world seemed all to be in his sight, and he became even more convinced of the memories and knowledge that had suddenly appeared in his mind.
“What a selfish Buddhist Sect, what a selfish Maitreya, to hide such secrets. Are they afraid that we might take their place as the Buddha?”
“Fortunately, I arrived here before him. The position of the Buddha must be mine in the future,” Juexing gritted his teeth and said. Now, he completely distrusted those high and mighty Buddhas as the seeds of doubt once sown, would swiftly take root and grow into a towering tree if unchecked.
Suddenly, he was seen sitting cross-legged atop Mount Ling, surrounded by Golden Lotuses, with divine chanting in the air that sanctified the place.
When Juexing opened his eyes again, his consciousness had returned to himself. A cold smile played on his lips, his mind already plotting how to reclaim the throne of the Buddha.
Atop Mount Ling, Maitreya also opened his eyes, puzzled, he said, “What madness is Marx up to today?”
