Instructor Valdin could not help but have an ugly expression hearing Simon’s words.

Some of the factions in the academy do not only have instructors as backers, they also had certain powerful figures and factions of the clan itself as backers.

Because of these powerful figures and clan factions, some academy factions are able to break the rules of the clan to a certain extent without getting the necessary punishment.

Instructor Valdin knew all of this, and as a Velari, he also knows about how the corruption in the clan was increasing little by little with time.

Corruption is a normal thing in any organization, especially in the demon realm, but the level it had reached in the clan was getting to a point that some were now complaining.

’Could it be possible that he knows about the internal situation of the clan?’

Instructor Valdin immediately shook his head.

’No. That can’t be. He just arrived at the clan. It has not even been up to a week, so how could he know such things? Even with the help of the Intelligence Office, he would not have the authorization and the merits to purchase such information’

And also because Instructor Valdin was a Velari.

’As a Velari, his authority in the clan is higher than many, so there’s a possibility that he might try to enforce the laws from now on considering that he seems to like his duty as an instructor of the academy.’

Few seconds after having this thought, Instructor Valdin spoke.

“Broken Halo, I’m not here to talk about the rules of the academy. I’m here to talk about you and all that you’ve done.”

Simon raised a brow. “Alright. I’m listening.”

“In less than a week, you’ve caused so many waves across the academy and clan. What you’ve done today surpasses the others you’ve done a few days ago.”

Simon nodded, but didn’t say anything and waited for the instructor to continue.

“After today, it’s fairly certain that things would get worse and the academy would become even more chaotic. I don’t want that.”

“It’s okay if there’s a controlled conflict and discord between you and your classmates or your gang and other gangs.”

“There’s no problem with that. But you’re going too far with this, and it might become something else.”

Simon narrowed his eyes, and he could guess what his class instructor was about to say. But he still chose to wait and said nothing.

“Take a step back, stop all conflicts for some time, give your classmates breathing space for some time, and be on good terms with the second year gangs and the factions backing them.”

“Apologize to them if you have to. Kowtow to them if you have to. I’ll make sure that you don’t lose your life, cause just as you said, a life is more precious than anything. Even if it might be shameful and embarrassing to do such a thing, just to do it so that you can live.”

“If you don’t stop… you will die.”

“Not in a duel. Not in public.”

“You will disappear.”

There was an uncomfortable silence for some seconds, and both Simon and Instructor Valdin stared at one another.

If Instructor Valdin could see Simon’s face, he would see the light smile that was on his face.

“My ’dear’ classmates have tried to bully and kill me numerous times from the very first day.”

“I don’t have the desire to be trampled on like trash or be used as a stepping stone. I have my own pride obviously, and me taking a step back, is me inviting my classmates to step on my head.”

“So no… I won’t step back. If anything… they should.”
