Leone’s heart almost turned into ice when the die’s motion slowed and stopped at the number one.

Fortunately, the ground was uneven, so the die toppled over and landed on a different number.

Five.

A moment later, the Sovereign Die transformed into a beam of light and shot toward Vlad, who was soon covered in a golden cocoon.

Following that, a ripple of power expanded outward.

And it didn’t end there.

Those outside the mountain instinctively looked up at the beam of golden light that shot toward the night sky, illuminating the surroundings around the domain of the Aslan Tribe.

Tianna also looked up at this scene and covered her lips with both hands.

’You did it, Vlad.’ Tianna felt proud of her little brother, who had finally achieved his cherished wish.

On the other hand, Brent, who was standing at the center of the Plaza of the Brave, looked at this phenomenon in surprise.

It wasn’t only him, though.

Everyone, including the monsters in the forests, the Orcs, and the beasts, stopped whatever they were doing and stared off into the distance.

Elias, one of the heirs of the Grimhowl Tribe, looked at this scene with a solemn look on his face.

Having seen this in the past, he was one of the few outsiders who understood what was happening.

’Leone has gained another vassal!’ Elias couldn’t help but clench his fists.

He didn’t know if he was anxious, envious, fearful, or simply in awe. Once again, the youngest chieftain of the Borderlands had gained a powerful ally.

’Who could it be?’ Elias thought. ’Is it Brent? No. I just saw him earlier. That can’t be him.’

It didn’t even cross his mind that the person who had gained the power of Leone’s vassalship was none other than Vlad.

Of course, Elias would never even consider such a thing from happening. In fact, the chances of that happening were zero.

To him, it was simply not possible.

So, he wondered who among Leone’s tribesmen or allies had gained this blessing that many would kill to possess.

Inside Grimjaw Mountain…

Slowly, the brilliance surrounding the cavern receded. It was then that they heard the sound of something cracking.

The golden cocoon containing Vlad cracked in the middle.

It then broke apart, revealing the figure of the teenage boy in the middle. His eyes were closed, and a pair of eagle-like wings unfurled behind his back.

He looked the same, but the presence he exuded had transformed into something unlike his usual self.

Even Leone’s current vassals could tell that they had somehow gained a very strong ally.

When the brilliance surrounding him fully receded, Vlad slowly opened his eyes.

He then looked at his hands, immediately feeling the power that seemed to overflow from inside his body.

“…This is the power of vassalship?” Vlad said in awe. “I feel so… I feel so powerful.”

Leone smiled. “Yes. That is the power of vassalship. Though it seems that you have also awakened the Thunder Roc Bloodline lying dormant inside your body.”

In response, Vlad raised his head and looked toward his new liege. Then, he hurriedly went closer to him, knelt, and once again swore his allegiance. Soon, the wings on his back slowly closed, merging with his body once more.

Leone patted the teenager’s shoulder in return and asked him to stand up so that he could get a better look at him.

’Daedalus, if you’d please,’ Leone said through telepathy.

’Understood!’ Daedalus replied and showed its Master Vlad’s Status Page.

< Drake Affinity [EX] >

— Grants Vlad an exceptionally high affinity with creatures possessing Draconic bloodlines, allowing him to more easily communicate, understand, and form bonds with Drakes.

— Enhances the growth and development of Vlad’s Draconic beast companions.

— Allows Vlad to share a portion of his affinity and power with a bonded beast companion, potentially awakening dormant Draconic traits.

— Under certain conditions, Vlad may temporarily or permanently manifest Draconic characteristics upon his personal beast companion, including the ability to grow wings.

— The strength and effects of this ability depend on Vlad’s affinity, the beast companion’s compatibility, as well as the purity of the beast companion’s Draconic bloodline.

< Eye Of The Battlefield [Level 5] >

— Creates a real-time strategic map centered around Vlad with a maximum effective range of 5 kilometers.

— Greatly increases the duration of creations manifested through Manifest Creation.

— The clearer and more detailed Vlad’s imagination, the more efficiently and accurately he can manifest his desired creations.

“That’s my boy,” Leone muttered as he continued to pat Vlad’s shoulder with satisfaction. “I didn’t know you were a strategist. You’re exactly what the Aslan Tribe needs right now.”

Vlad’s special abilities, including his ’Eye of the Battlefield’, were things Leone was very happy to have.

The latter allowed Vlad to create a map that revealed the positions and movements of their enemies in real time.

It also had a range of five kilometers.

Overall, it would prove to be very useful, especially during wartime.

Then again, the fact that it could be upgraded with BP to Level 10 was also a good thing.

Unfortunately, raising it to that level would require Leone to spend 2,000,000 BP, which he currently didn’t have.

But there was a saving grace. According to Daedalus, once Vlad’s Eye of the Battlefield reached Level 10, its range would expand up to ten kilometers.

Of course, that range would give them a tremendous tactical advantage over their enemies before any possible engagement could even begin.

It wouldn’t even be an exaggeration to say that Vlad had become a priceless treasure to the Aslan Tribe!

Seeing how happy Leone looked, Vlad felt incredibly happy as well.

For most of his life, Vlad had desperately wanted an opportunity to prove himself.

Unlike his older brothers, he had rarely been allowed to participate in important discussions regarding the future of the Warclaw Tribe.

Whenever important decisions had to be made, the adults would tell him that he was still too young.

And whenever military matters were discussed, he was often asked to leave.

Unlike them, Leone didn’t look at him as if looking at a clueless child.

Instead, he was looking at him as if looking at someone valuable.

Someone whose abilities could help shape the future.

Vlad unconsciously clenched his fists at that moment.

“I’ll do my best, Great Chieftain,” Vlad said firmly. “I won’t let you down.”

Leone smiled in return. “I know you won’t.”

The warriors then started to cheer, welcoming the new ally who would help their tribe grow to greater heights.

Plus, now that Vlad had finally become Leone’s vassal, it was now time for him to know some of their core secrets.

“Allow me to introduce you to our secret weapon,” Leone said with a smile. “Introduce yourself, Daedalus.”

At those words, the grimoire that always hung on Leone’s waist unstrapped itself and hovered in the air.

“It is nice to finally talk to you like this, Vlad,” Daedalus said. “I go by many names! Some call me the Book of Toth, while others call me the Akashic Records. However, many refer to me as the Kingmaker!”

“Ooooh!” Vlad looked at the grimoire with sparkling eyes. “A magical artifact that talks!”

Daedalus glowed with a radiant light, which made Leone facepalm at the sight.

Clearly, the grimoire was going all out, even resorting to using special effects to make it look good in front of the teenage boy.

“That’s right,” Daedalus said in a dignified voice. “I existed in the era where Gods still walked with mortals. I am eternal…”

“Wow!” Vlad clapped his hands. “Daedalus, you’re amazing!”

“Awww shucks! You’re such a good kid!” Daedalus patted the teenage boy’s head with its pages in response. “I look forward to working with you in helping Leone become the greatest king that has ever lived!”

“Definitely!” Vlad happily agreed to the grimoire’s words. “We will make him the greatest of all time!”

“That’s my boy!”

“Yeah!”

The two then exchanged a high five, clearly hitting it off right away.

Leone looked at them with a faint smile on his face. Now that he had made Vlad one of his vassals, he could take him to the battlefield.

Their current mission was to delay the advance of the Army of Britannia, which had collaborated with the High King of the Aurelion Empire, who wished to make the land of Eden part of their own domain.
