Today, the Aslan Tribe would finally set out for their first Tribal Gathering.
To commemorate the occasion, Kael hosted a simple ceremony to bless their journey.
Aria had also come to assist her grandfather, fulfilling her role as the High Priestess of the Trinity of the Aslan Tribe.
“Take care of the Aslan Tribe while I’m away, Brann,” Leone’s body double said with a smile.
“You can count on me, Great Chieftain!” Brann replied, fully aware that Leone’s consciousness was controlling the clone before him.
Leone then shifted his attention toward his people before raising his fist high into the air.
“We will return victorious!” Leone declared. “So, until our return, protect our territory at all costs!”
“”Yes, Great Chieftain!””
Soon, thunderous cheers echoed throughout the mountains, bringing a faint smile to Leone’s face.
The young man then made his way toward the grand carriage, so big it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call it a house on wheels. That being so, it had to be pulled by four powerful Drakes.
Originally, Brann and Boris were supposed to accompany Leone’s clone to the Tribal Gathering. However, circumstances had changed.
With the threat of the Kingdom of Britannia upon their land, they needed to keep all of the heavy hitters within their territory to best prepare for the coming conflict.
Natalia, Jason, and Kael would board the house-like carriage and travel with Leone and Ulric, though the latter would take the coachman’s seat to oversee the entire procession.
Fifty warriors from the Aslan Tribe would also accompany them on the journey. Half of them rode on Drakes, while the others traveled in carriages specially built for long-distance journeys.
Everyone within the territory watched the grand procession pass through the massive stone gates of the Aslan Tribe, praying for their safety as they ventured out onto the plains of the Borderlands.
An hour after the procession had departed the city, Leone opened his eyes.
At that moment, he was lying comfortably on his bed inside his home within Grimjaw Mountain.
’Well, that went better than I expected,’ Leone thought as he slowly propped himself up. ’I don’t feel any different inside my clone’s body compared to my true body.’
’Did you expect anything less from my strategy?’ Daedalus replied directly inside Leone’s head.
A faint smile appeared on Leone’s face as he looked at the grimoire hovering beside him.
Daedalus and Vlad had truly created a flawless vessel, one that could perfectly store Leone’s consciousness anytime, anywhere.
“Good job, Daedalus,” Leone said. “I’ll commend Vlad for a job well done later as well.”
After leaving his residence, Leone was surprised to find that Vlad, Lord Azar, and the rest of his remaining vassals had already gathered outside.
Then again, today he’d return to the Helion Duchy for his great-grandfather’s reinforcements. He couldn’t wait to see what kind of talents had been prepared for him.
That being so, all of his vassals were just as eager to see the people who would soon fight alongside them in the battles to come.
With that, they followed behind their Great Chieftain as he headed toward the Forgotten Temple, where Logan and Rasta were already waiting for his arrival.
Just like Leone’s vassals, they also wanted to see the warriors who would join them, as well as Leone’s great-grandfather, whom the young man had mentioned was the Hero of the Radiant Empire.
Logan knew there were many powerful humans in the world. As such, he wanted to see just how strong this so-called “Hero” was.
“Ready?” Lord Azar asked.
“Yes,” Leone replied.
Without another word, the Dragon made some hand seals before activating the magic circle within the temple.
A moment later, everyone inside it was bathed in a radiance before disappearing into particles of light.
—————
At the entrance of the cave leading to the Dragon’s Nest…
Lugh shifted his attention toward the entrance of the cave, having sensed a ripple of power just now.
Behind him, Andreas, Jeeves, and the mercenaries of Lost Paradise stood in attention.
A few minutes later, they heard the sound of footsteps coming from the cavern.
The barrier protecting the cave was still in place, and yet, someone walked out of it as if it wasn’t there.
“You’re finally here, Leone,” Lugh said to his great-grandson.
“I greet Great-Grandfather,” Leone replied with a respectful bow.
Leone’s vassals also bowed their heads in greeting. Since their Great Chieftain had done so, it was only natural for them to follow his lead.
Behind them, Logan and Rasta had solemn expressions on their faces.
They had already expected Leone’s great-grandfather to be strong. Yet, when they laid their eyes on him, their instincts still kicked in, almost forcing the two to take a fighting stance.
In fact, Logan had already moved to hold the handle of his axe, while Rasta had already gripped his staff tightly.
Both of their actions had been subconsciously done. Their bodies simply felt that if they made no move to defend themselves, they would die without any form of resistance.
Noticing that, Lugh glanced at the two Orcs and gave them a brief nod of greeting. That act made Logan and Rasta break out of their daze, but they still remained alert and didn’t lower their guard.
It was then that the two Orcs realized something.
Lugh wasn’t the only strong person around them.
In fact, there were six more powerful individuals, all observing them from a distance.
Although these six were weaker than Lugh, they were still far stronger than Logan and Rasta!
Of course, Leone’s other vassals also felt this disparity in strength. However, they held their ground, not wanting other people to look down on them or their Great Chieftain.
Though there was one more person reeling from the shock of this meeting.
And it was none other than Hassan.
’L-Lost Paradise?!’ Hassan gasped internally at the sight of the six powerhouses who made up the S-Rank Mercenary Group of the Radiant Empire.
Many nobles and powerful factions within the Radiant Empire had tried to win these mercenaries over and recruit them to become part of their private army.
Yet, the six refused all their offers.
No matter how much money or power was promised to them, not a single one of them budged to the temptation.
They simply carried out their duties as the Mercenary Group named Lost Paradise, whose fame had spread far and wide.
However, there was a secret that not many knew about.
They weren’t aware that Lost Paradise was one of the Four Hidden Daggers that served Lugh directly.
Lost Paradise. (Mercenary Group)
The Nameless. (Assassin Squad)
Black Veil. (Intelligence Agency)
And the Blood Hounds. (Hunters)
These four organizations helped the Helion Family from the shadows. Though Andreas may seek their help, without Lugh’s permission, they wouldn’t obey his every order.
After all, they were the orphans whom Lugh had met, saved, and raised during his wanderings over the continent. In other words, their loyalty only belonged to him.
Hassan was a part of ’The Nameless’, which Lugh had sent to the Kingdom of Britannia in order to protect Helen.
And thus, seeing them in the flesh made Hassan understand that his Master was taking this upcoming war seriously.
That was because Lost Paradise was the most powerful among the organizations that served Lugh, and this only meant one thing.
It meant that Lugh had recognized Leone’s importance to the Helion Family, and was also making sure that his great-grandson would be able to rise to greater heights.
Little did Hassan know that Leone and Daedalus shared the same shock and were also struggling to seem unbothered.
Unlike Hassan, who only knew the reputation and strength of Lost Paradise after seeing them in action a few times, Leone and Daedalus could actually see their status pages.
And the numbers and details listed made the young man almost hug the living sh*t out of his great-grandfather, who had taken his request seriously.
