Two young men sprinted through a dense underground forest as fast as their legs could carry them.
Branches whipped against their clothes while bushes and roots blurred past beneath their feet.
Behind them echoed the furious growls of monsters.
More than ten massive wolves relentlessly pursued them.
They were Direwolves—D-Rank monsters with jet-black fur, crimson eyes, and bodies nearly twice the size of ordinary wolves. Their sharp fangs protruded from their mouths as saliva dripped onto the ground while they ran.
Leading the pack was an even more terrifying beast.
A C-Rank Direwolf Alpha.
Its body was as large as a rhinoceros, covered in thick black fur with dark crimson patterns running across its limbs. Every step it took shook the ground beneath it.

Noah and Damien had already descended to another floor of the labyrinth.

He spun around in one smooth motion. Golden mana erupted around his sword.
The blade blazed brilliantly. With a powerful horizontal swing.

A crescent-shaped arc of radiant light shot through the forest.
The golden slash crossed dozens of meters in an instant.

It struck one of the Direwolves head-on.
The monster was thrown backward as a massive diagonal wound split open across its body.
Blood sprayed through the air before the wolf crashed violently into several trees.
Meanwhile Noah thrust both hands forward. Mana surged from his core. The earth before the charging wolves trembled.

A gigantic wall of crystal-blue ice erupted from the ground. Nearly five meters tall and several meters thick, it completely blocked the wolves’ path.

“My turn.” he said and decided to try new spell he learned while he was at home.
A deep-blue magic circle rapidly formed before him. At the same time. An identical magic circle appeared beneath one of the charging Direwolves.
“This is… The first time I’ve used it in actual combat.”
It was a spell he had learned only recently during his training with his mother.
