I Use Illusions To Control The Whole World Chapter 29
Bronze law [five finger flame bullet]
“Is Mr. Ye satisfied with my explanation?” Su Mu’s gentle voice echoed.
Ye Fanyu stood completely still, tense all over, not daring to move.
Su Mu smiled slightly. His actions had been calculated—he knew Ye Fanyu couldn’t withstand bullets. He had already learned from Li Qiang about the strength of those humanoid monsters and Ye Fanyu’s behavior when fighting them.
Those humanoid monsters possessed strength several times that of ordinary humans and had extreme regenerative abilities.
Even if their heads were blown apart, they wouldn’t necessarily die. Against regular people, they were overpowering. But if it came down to a one-on-one fight with Yang Dongqing, Yang would definitely win. Unfortunately, the monsters rarely acted alone; they typically attacked in groups of hundreds.
Over the past three days, Ye Fanyu had fought these monsters several times, always keeping his distance. He fired flame bullets from his fingertips but never allowed them to get close. If one did, he would immediately flee. In fact, for most of the past three days, they had hidden inside the house.
From this, it was clear that Ye Fanyu’s transcendent ability was related to fire, and he lacked the bullet-resistant defense Yang Dongqing had.
The tense standoff lasted for a moment before Ye Fanyu suddenly withdrew the flame at his fingertip and forced a smile. “I was being rash. Those humanoid monsters don’t have guns. Please don’t take it the wrong way, sir. I didn’t mean anything else. I’m just blunt by nature and don’t know how to talk properly. Honestly, the pressure in this Dream World over the past few days has been unbearable. My nerves are stretched thin. Now that I think about it, if you were a Nightmare Creature, you would’ve killed us all the moment we opened the door.”
He paused, then added, “If I’m not mistaken, you’re a transcendent too. Your ability must be related to puppets. These people are probably your puppets, which is how you brought them all into the Dream World, right?”
Without making any clear motion, he simply tapped his cane elegantly on the ground. Instantly, over a dozen black-suited men holstered their guns in perfect unison and resumed standing like statues.
This was the power of strength. When you have strength, even the most unreasonable situations can be justified. Other transcendents would come up with explanations for you. Like now—he didn’t even need to explain anything. Ye Fanyu had already reasoned it out on his own.
Su Mu walked over and lightly patted Ye Fanyu’s stiff shoulder, smiling kindly. “I didn’t expect you to figure it out. Mr. Ye, you truly have a sharp eye.”
Ye Fanyu gave a dry laugh, his gaze nervously flicking to the hand resting on his shoulder, terrified Su Mu might suddenly strike.
“And you are…?”
“I’m Su Mu. It’s an honor to go through this nightmare with you, Mr. Ye.”
Ye Fanyu hurriedly replied in a panic, “You’re too kind. It’s my honor. With you two transcendents joining us, our chances of surviving this nightmare have shot up.”
Nearby, Wang Li and the others looked on with strange expressions. After three days with Ye Fanyu, they knew exactly what kind of person he was—arrogant, selfish, ruthless. Yet now, faced with someone stronger, all those traits had transformed into obedience, humility, and politeness.
Soon after, everyone began exchanging pleasantries and introducing themselves. The atmosphere became unexpectedly pleasant.
But two people remained tense—Li Qiang and Wang Li.
The honest-looking middle-aged man kept glancing at Wang Li, hesitating as if he wanted to speak but couldn’t. Wang Li’s heart tightened. She had already made up her mind—if Li Qiang dared to report what she had just done, she would immediately strike back and turn the tables.
However, Li Qiang said nothing in the end. It was as if nothing had happened.
After some brief exchanges, Ye Fanyu spoke up, “Mr. Su and Mr. Yang, since you entered three days later, you might not know much about this nightmare. Would you like me to explain it?”
Su Mu shook his head. “No need. I’ve already heard some details from Mr. Li Qiang. Mr. Ye, what are your plans next?”
Ye Fanyu quickly responded, “I originally planned to stay in one room and wait for the natural Dream Awakening. Most Nightmare Apostles do that. But now that you two transcendents have joined us, we can revise that strategy. Let’s try exploring—we might even find a way to break the nightmare.”
Su Mu’s gaze flickered slightly. He had already heard the basics of the Dream World from Yang Dongqing. It was called a nightmare for a reason—it could be broken.
Normally, most Nightmare Apostles chose to hide in a safe place and wait it out. After about seven days, they would wake up and return to reality—provided they survived the full seven days.
But this method couldn’t work forever. It was said that as one entered the Dream World more times, the duration of the nightmare would extend—seven days, ten days, a month, even six months. Eventually, one might never wake again. Unless the nightmare was broken, they’d be trapped here forever.
So, if the nightmare was simple, it was better to break it.
At this point, Ye Fanyu added, “If we’re lucky, we might even find one or two treasures.”
His eyes, behind his amber glasses, subtly glanced at Yang Dongqing. Seeing Yang’s confusion, it was clear he didn’t know what treasures were.
So Su Mu continued naturally, “Yes, treasures are a good thing. I once had the good fortune of owning one. Unfortunately, I lost it due to certain circumstances.”
A trace of regret appeared on Su Mu’s face as he spoke.
“That’s a real shame.” Ye Fanyu looked genuinely regretful. “Even the lowest-grade Bronze Tier 1 treasure can sell for at least five million on the transcendent black market. But usually, no one sells them. Treasures possess transcendent power and greatly boost combat strength. Unless someone’s desperate for money, who would sell it?”
He added, “If I had a defensive treasure, even a Bronze Tier 1 one, combined with my Bronze Law [Five-Finger Flame Bullet], I wouldn’t have spent every day hiding in a house, blocked in by Nightmare Creatures.”
He didn’t hide his ability. He felt there was no need. [Five-Finger Flame Bullet] wasn’t as common as [Iron Will], but it wasn’t rare either. He had already used it once, and any transcendent with some knowledge could probably guess it.
“By the way, Mr. Su, what level was your lost treasure?”
“Ah, it’s a painful memory. Best not to bring it up,” Su Mu replied, looking slightly sorrowful.
Ye Fanyu tactfully didn’t press. “Of course, let’s focus on the present. Mr. Su, in my opinion, we can’t stay in this two-story house anymore. The door’s been broken. The houses in the village are all basic structures—easy to destroy, yet oddly able to block those powerful humanoid monsters. Strange, isn’t it?”
“The urgent thing now is to find a place that can fit everyone—somewhere safe—before dawn, before the monsters appear. We also need food and candles.”
