My Divine System Chapter 35

Facing the past

Next fight was two students who were ranked lower than Michael, and the fight wasn’t very interesting as both fighters were weak.

After that fight, a girl challenged Michael for a fight.

Michael didn’t hesitate when the call to fight came; in fact, he welcomed it. The thought of facing battle sooner rather than later gave him a strange sense of relief. He knew enduring the fight now meant he could move on and focus on climbing the ranks, rather than letting anxiety build over time. The tension that had been buzzing in his chest for days finally had an outlet, and though the prospect of combat was daunting, Michael found comfort in the idea that once it was over, he could rise stronger and closer to his goals. The sooner he faced the challenge, the sooner he could prove himself and advance, making every nerve-wracking moment worthwhile.

Michael stood face to face with her, and he really had to say she was very cute, but Michael wouldn’t take it easier on her because she was a girl.

In fact, he wanted to end this fight as quickly as possible.

Begin

Michael’s body surged with crackling electric energy as he lunged forward, bolts of lightning arcing from his fists like shooting stars. Opposite him stood Liora, the Radiant Blaze, her hands glowing with pure, blinding light that shimmered like the midday sun.

Without hesitation, Liora unleashed a dazzling flare, a wave of searing light rushing toward Michael. He barely dove aside, the heat singeing the air where he had stood. Michael’s eyes narrowed, electricity sparking louder as he charged up his own power, the storm inside him roaring to life.

With a sharp cry, Michael fired a storm of star-shaped lightning bolts, the air crackling as they zipped toward Liora. She skillfully bent the light around her, creating a shimmering barrier that absorbed the bolts in bursts of blinding radiance.

The two clashed again—Michael’s electric strikes against Liora’s radiant beams lighting up the arena in a spectacular storm of light and thunder. Raindrops fell, hissing as they met the charged air.

Gathering his energy, Michael leapt high, fists glowing like electric comets. With a powerful roar, he slashed downward with his Celestial Thunderclaw, an unstoppable strike of lightning meant to break through even the brightest defenses.

Liora barely raised her arms in time, the clash exploding in a blaze of light and crackling energy. When the dust settled, Michael stood panting but victorious, his lightning flickering softly with triumph.

Liora smiled, nodding in respect.

“You’ve mastered your ability well, Michael. A true Lightning Star.”

Michael’s eyes blazed as he summoned the *Thunderstorm Fury*, bolts crackling wildly around him. Liora fired a *Radiant Nova*, a blinding sphere of light hurtling his way, but Michael vanished in a flash, reappearing above her.

With a primal roar, he unleashed *Celestial Thunderclaw*, his electrified fist smashing through her glowing shield. Liora screamed as lightning tore through her defenses, the impact throwing her across the arena like a ragdoll.

Before she could recover, Michael charged again, summoning a relentless lighting

“House of Arden: Lightning Surge Barrage”

Infinite streaks of lightning hammered down, relentless and brutal. Her light flickered weakly until finally, a massive *Thunderbolt Cataclysm* struck her midair, exploding in a thunderous roar that silenced the battlefield.

Michael stood over her, chest heaving, electric energy crackling violently around him—unyielding, unstoppable.

Winner: Michael Arden.

Michael returned to his seat. He could hear the murmurs of the students, some gossiping about him and some even pointing their hands towards him. Michael didn’t pay attention to them and just sat back in his seat.

Even though he won, this match he had to use a lot of essence to beat that girl, and he had to admit, the fight was great. The girl was really strong; who knew the ability to control light could be so devastating? Michael didn’t even think he would meet a strong challenger in the lower rankings, but he was wrong. Michael knew that the divine system was a cheat, but there were other abnormalities out there that could pose a serious threat to him.

The ranking continued, and Michael got challenged two more times. Luckily, neither was as strong as the last girl he fought. Soon, the ranking would reach the top hundred, and then the fights would get harder. Michael had only one more fight to accept before he was done and free from accepting any challenges.

While he was still busy with his thoughts, he heard someone challenge him.

“I challenge Michael Arden, ranked 93.”

When Michael saw who it was, his blood boiled. He never knew he would one day have the opportunity to fight his tormentor.

Remembering all those days when Michael stared at his feet, trying to disappear into the shadows—those moments flooded his mind. Now, he was being tormented relentlessly, bullied until his spirit cracked, feeling like he’d been left to die on his own. Every cruel word, every shove, every mocking laugh echoed louder than thunder in his chest.

The memory of Ethan’s sneering face haunted him. The earth user who was more than just a bully; he was a symbol of every scar Michael carried inside. Tonight, those dark memories fueled an unquenchable fire—no longer pain, but pure, burning hatred.

As he stepped into the arena, the crowd’s noise faded into a distant roar. All Michael could feel was that old weight, twisted into something fierce and sharp. His fists crackled with electricity, trembling with the promise of payback. This fight wasn’t just for victory,it was for every broken piece of his past.

When Ethan appeared, smug and confident, Michael’s blood boiled.

Begin

Michael unleashed the Thunderstorm Fury, a storm of uncontrolled lightning tearing at Ethan’s earth defenses. Rocks and earth exploded, showering the arena, but Ethan held firm, summoning a colossal wall of rock to shield himself. The attack was relentless, a chaotic dance of lightning and pulverized earth.

Ethan countered, not with a passive defense, but with a barrage of jagged spikes erupting from the ground, aiming to pin Michael down. Michael, however, dodged with remarkable agility, his movements now fluid and precise, a deadly ballet of controlled fury. He weaved through the rising earth, a storm of lightning cracking around him, each bolt a precise, calculated strike. He struck again with his Celestial Thunderclaw, targeting a weak point in Ethan’s rock defenses, but the force was absorbed by the shield, despite shaking it.

Ethan, feeling the pressure mount, summoned a massive earth dome around himself, a desperate attempt to seal himself off from the electric storm. The dome pulsed with the strain, cracks spider-webbing across its surface as Michael’s unrelenting assault pounded against it. Dust and debris showered the arena, and the earth trembled beneath the brutal exchange.

Michael didn’t hesitate. He unleashed a sustained Lightning Surge Barrage, each bolt precisely aimed at the weakest points of the dome. The earth trembled; the cracks widened, showering the arena with dust and debris. But Ethan held on, his grim determination a testament to his strength. The strain on both of them was enormous. The air crackled with the raw power of their struggle. Michael’s lightning, though potent, began to falter; he was expending more essence than he’d anticipated.

Ethan, seeing an opening, channeled a surge of earth energy, a powerful counter-blast aimed at shattering Michael’s lightning-infused attacks. The force of the counter-blast was incredible, pushing back the surge of lightning. For a moment, the arena was a stalemate, a frightening dance between raw power and sheer willpower.

Then, with a guttural roar, Michael unleashed the fury of one of his strongest skill.

“House of Arden: Thunderbolt Cataclysm.”

But Ethan countered, summoning a massive geyser of earth that blasted outward, momentarily pushing back Michael’s attack. The geyser, while successful, was short-lived; the surge of earth was deflected and the Cataclysm continued its course.

The explosive blast shattered the earth dome. Ethan, caught in the shockwave, was flung across the arena, landing in a heap, broken and bleeding. The air thickened with the smell of ozone and the rich scent of blood.

Michael stood over him, breathing hard, his power fading, exhaustion heavy on him. The silence was deafening, broken only by the frantic shouts of the healers rushing to Ethan’s aid. Ethan’s fate was uncertain. Michael’s victory was absolute, but far more costly than he’d anticipated.

**Winner: Michael Arden.**

The crowd was stunned into silence. The weight of the battle hung heavy in the air, a testament to the raw power and brutal intensity of the fight that had just transpired.

While everyone was amazed by the power Michael possessed, the legacies we’re looking at him with interest each of them contemplating on how to recruit the new boy.

“Hey, sister isn’t that guy perfect” Raphael Emberheart asked.

” Yes, he is but we are here to recruit potential and he might be strong but I don’t see anything amazing about him, if we were to fight. I would be able to beat him in a second” she said with enough confidence that could uproot a building.
