Legend Management Bureau Chapter 315
You si’s concerns[ … words ]
[ … words ]
Ying Ning did not know why, but a nameless rage welled up within her heart.
This unfamiliar woman standing before her kept using Zhan Qisheng’s cultivation methods, completely throwing her mind into disarray.
It was only at this moment that she noticed something else. Whether it was Zhan Qisheng or You Si, both were dressed entirely in black. There was an indescribable similarity in their attire.
Although she generally trusted Zhan Qisheng’s character, this situation made it hard not to let her imagination run wild.
“It seems I have no choice but to kill you first, and then go ask Little Zhan about it,” she declared.
Chilling frost radiated from Ying Ning’s shoulders. She first sealed the wounds across her body with a layer of ice, then waved her hand, conjuring dozens of Flying Swords formed from pure ice crystals out of thin air. These Flying Swords hovered motionlessly in the sky, each one resembling a predator eyeing its prey.
With a subtle twitch of Ying Ning’s fingers, the dozens of Flying Swords shot toward You Si like a meteor shower.
You Si shifted her figure, smoothly dodging the blindingly fast Flying Swords. Not a single blade even brushed her clothes, as though she were strolling through an empty void.
“Time Magic, Winter Sun Summer Flower!”
Ying Ning’s expression remained unchanged. The moment she heard the words “Winter Sun Summer Flower,” she instantly condensed a thick layer of frost over several vital acupoints on her own body.
A split second later, snow-covered lotus flowers bloomed wildly across those very acupoints.
But because Ying Ning had laid down the layer of ice beforehand, the lotuses withered away just as quickly as they appeared.
“Winter Sun Summer Flower” was considered one of the more vicious Time Magics. It used spiritual energy as a seed and was meant to take root and sprout in the various vital acupoints of the human body, draining the target’s nutrients to flourish. Yet, Ying Ning had defused the technique with effortless ease.
“How strange…” You Si furrowed her brows. “This is clearly my first time fighting you, yet you seem to know all of my techniques.”
“What is so strange about it?” Ying Ning sneered. “You have already cast ‘Retrograde Wind,’ ‘Reversing Flowing Fire,’ and ‘Winter Sun Summer Flower.’ Next, shouldn’t it be ‘Ascending Waterfall’ and ‘Gold Above Clouds’?”
Hearing this, You Si slightly narrowed her eyes. She could not comprehend how her personally developed cultivation methods had been seen through so thoroughly by the female ghost standing before her.
Because her primary focus was on Time Magic and array formations, she was not naturally skilled in actual combat. To make up for this flaw, You Si had spent a thousand years creating the “Time Five Elements Magic.” Since these spells were fused with Time Magic, their manifestations completely contradicted the natural laws of ordinary Five Elements Magic.
For example, mighty winds would blow in retrograde, raging flames would burn in reverse, summer flowers would bloom in dead winter, plunging waterfalls would flow backward into the sky, and heavy metals and stones would float into the clouds.
It was precisely because of the peculiar nature of these spells—each requiring a completely counterintuitive approach to unravel—that You Si could catch her opponents off guard and inflict devastating injuries every time she cast them.
Yet, all of this had been completely anticipated by the female ghost in front of her.
“Could it be that you investigated me beforehand?” You Si’s expression shifted, surprisingly revealing a faint smile. “Am I already this famous?”
“Do not flatter yourself,” Ying Ning retorted with a mocking smile of her own. “While I certainly plan to interrogate you until I have answers, I never bothered to investigate you.”
A tense, volatile atmosphere erupted between the two women once again.
Ying Ning swiped her hands through the air, drawing one vertical line and one horizontal line to form a massive cross. The oppressive aura it radiated was utterly terrifying.
But before Ying Ning could strike, a dense cloud of black mist suddenly descended from the heavens.
Carrying the momentum of a thunderbolt, the black mist crashed down directly toward the top of Ying Ning’s head.
Forced to interrupt her channeling, Ying Ning hastily retreated backward.
Once she was clear of the blast radius, Ying Ning looked up, her brow furrowing tightly.
A suffocating mass of dozens of monks clad in black robes was dropping from the sky. It appeared they had finally discovered this location.
“What are you trying to do to Mother?!” one of the black-clad monks bellowed in absolute fury. Upon landing, he glared viciously at Ying Ning.
“Mother?” Ying Ning let out a scoffing laugh. “What kind of touching, filial melodrama is this?”
Seeing the black-clad monks arrive, a complicated expression crossed You Si’s face. First, she looked at them with profound gentleness, but that warmth was quickly overtaken by a deep sorrow.
“My children, why are you here?” You Si asked softly.
“Mother, are you finally willing to acknowledge us?” The monk paused, momentarily stunned, before a look of pure joy washed over his face.
“Silly child, how could I ever forget you?” You Si swept her gaze around the area and asked, “Did these people bully you?”
“Not at all,” the monk replied, shaking his head. “Mother, we have grown up. No one can bully us now. We simply want to murder these people, that is all.”
“Oh…?” You Si’s expression shifted slightly. Then, she slowly nodded. “I see…”
“Mother, let us kill these people together, and then ascend to the Extremely Dark World for all eternity!” The monk smiled radiantly, extending a hand toward You Si.
You Si hesitated for a fraction of a second, then gave a slow, deliberate nod.
Watching this scene unfold, Dong Qianqiu felt a tingling numbness crawl across his scalp. Zhi Nv’s recall process still required two more minutes to complete, and he genuinely had no idea if Ying Ning could handle fighting so many powerful enemies at once.
“Du Yu!” Dong Qianqiu sent another plea for help via Voice Transmission. “You Si still intends to slaughter everyone… What on earth should we do?!”
Hearing the panic in his voice, Du Yu slightly furrowed his brows. He was relying almost entirely on Dong Qianqiu’s verbal reports to understand the battle situation over at Buzhou Mountain, which naturally made it exceedingly difficult to formulate an immediate counter-strategy.
If anything, he had even more questions than Dong Qianqiu did.
This mysterious figure, You Si, seemed to be tied to far too many events… Just what exactly was going on?
But there was no time to dwell on these mysteries. Du Yu had to figure out a way to save Ying Ning and the others first.
Yet he was physically located in a completely different timeline. How was he supposed to rescue them from so far away?
Du Yu knitted his brows tightly. Was there anything—any action at all—that could simultaneously affect the legends on both sides?
Did the two legends share any common connection?
At that thought, Du Yu slowly turned his head to look at Xie Yujiao.
If there was a connection to be found, she was the only one.
This seemingly foolish girl standing before him, who was so prone to anger, harbored a terrifying demoness within her body.
Her ultimate goal was to find a suitable candidate to become the new “Time.”
It was just that she could not remember any of it right now.
Being constantly stared at by Du Yu was starting to make Xie Yujiao genuinely annoyed. However, since Dong Qianqiu had been communicating with Du Yu via a one-way Voice Transmission, she was completely in the dark about what was happening.
“What exactly is happening over there?” Xie Yujiao demanded. “If there is something you need me to do, can you just tell me directly? For better or worse, I am your person now.”
Du Yu paused, then spoke up. “A’jiao, do you truly believe that you are my person now?”
“Of course. You aren’t trying to back out on your word, are you?”
“No…” Du Yu shook his head, then immediately asked, “Do you know what I hate more than anything else in this world?”
“What is it?”
“I hate seeing my friends get hurt,” Du Yu said, locking eyes with Xie Yujiao with unprecedented solemnity. “If you ever dare to hurt my friends, then you and I will become mortal enemies. I will never forgive you, no matter what happens. I will despise you for all eternity.”
Standing off to the side, Shiranui Asuka froze for a moment before asking hesitantly, “Senior Du Yu… why are you suddenly saying such heavy words?”
