Extra’s Supremacy: Rise of the Forgotten Background Character Chapter 236

Chapter 236: End of The Tunnel.

“Why the hell is this hole so dark…?”

I couldn’t help but curse as I forced myself into the narrow passage, darker than pitch black. Just moments ago, I had been gulping down water like a madman after that bastard Winter left me to dry for god knows how many days but then the entire treasury started shaking, cracks spreading across the walls.

Winter wasn’t happy about the development either but what could he even do when the Heavenly Principles themselves were pushing this treasury out of the Mortal Realm?

According to him, the treasury had long overstayed the time it was allowed to exist in the Mortal Realm as he had been resisting the push while I was inside his father’s memories, chatting with the Trickster and trying to revive Eidolon.

Naturally, I, being a sane and perfectly normal human drowning in greed, cursed him. After all, he had promised to send me to the places where I could obtain the artifact I wanted in exchange for helping him with that entire situation and I wasn’t about to take a loss.

And for once, Winter agreed with me.

He said he also had a lot to talk about with his dear old dad, whom he had just reunited with after so many years.

So, with the smile of a complete maniac, he declared that he would burn away a small part of his own existence just to extend the treasury’s stay by a few more hours and then he sent me on my way, opening a tunnel that would lead me near the chamber where the artifact I wanted was stored.

But now, my goal had changed slightly.

I still wanted the artifact but I also wanted to have some sweet revenge because if my guess was right, those transmigrator bastards should be there, assuming they hadn’t already gotten their hands on whatever they were searching for and from what Winter had told me, many elves had also gathered in that room.

So in a way, this was the perfect time to get my revenge on both groups I hated.

I wasn’t too worried about him burning part of his existence, since he was only referring to a small fragment of his true body.

The thing I was actually worried about was the fact that I had been climbing through this tunnel for the past half hour and I still hadn’t seen anything close to an exit.

“Tsk… fuck you, Winter. How long is this thing…?”

Naturally, I didn’t get a response but just imagining the grin that bastard would have on his face was enough to annoy me.

Still, as they say, there’s light at the end of every tunnel and I didn’t have to wait much longer.

I finally saw a bright glow shining down from above as I picked up my pace, inching closer to the exit but the moment I reached the opening, I heard voices.

I didn’t stick my head out immediately to assess who was outside as most of my body was still inside the tunnel and if I peeked out now, I wouldn’t even be able to defend myself.

“Umm… did you really think I was beautiful…?”

A feminine voice echoed. It was soft, but unfamiliar.

Who the hell is having a romantic date in this hellhole right now…?

I wanted to curse them, maybe even throw a few stones, but I held myself back because I still didn’t know whether they were enemies.

There was no verbal response to her question.

Instead, her soft laugh echoed.

I guessed the guy must have nodded or something.

The feminine voice spoke again.

“Although I could never be… with you, you know… I do have a sister who is single and from what I have seen of you, I’m sure she’ll like you too. After all, you are so sweet… and cool… Bearlo.”

The moment that name reached my ears, my body froze.

B.e.a.r.l.o…?

The name echoed in my mind again and again.

While I was out there fighting Eldritch beings for my life and dealing with cosmic Gods, this guy was busy impressing some random girl and arranging his marriage.

This bastard…

I saw a red silhouette above the opening as I pushed myself forward and leapt out of the hole, my fist already extended, amplified with internal gravity and mana, fully intending to give that bastard a proper whack.

“Did you miss me, bastard…?”

The moment I appeared, my fist connected and a body flew across the chamber and crashed into the wall, stirring up a cloud of dust.

As my eyes adjusted to the light, I saw Bearlo standing there, staring at me in shock and behind him stood a white-furred bear who looked suspiciously like a female.

But I frowned.

If he was still standing… then who the hell did I just punch?

Before I even had to waste my precious brainpower, the dust began to settle and a white-furred bear, similar to the one behind Bearlo became visible within the rubble.

He had a beard, his body wrapped in bandages and thanks to my punch, he looked even more injured than before.

Ahh.

Wrong number, I guess.

“My liege, you are finally here… I have been searching for you everywhere.”

Bearlo said, immediately kneeling in front of me.

Seeing him up close, wrapped in countless bandages and covered in scars, I realized that maybe this bastard hadn’t been having a great time either.

“Tsk…”

I clicked my tongue and decided to forgive the ungrateful bastard just this once.

—

I had many questions I wanted to ask but I knew better than anyone that this wasn’t the time for it as I quickly began assessing our surroundings because this sure as hell wasn’t the General Hall.

Did that bastard Winter trick me…?

Before I could curse him a few more times, the space around us began folding and twisting as the chamber itself started to change.

“Son, never sleep with a married woman.” That was my father’s final advice, right after being stabbed by a jealous husband. I took his words to heart. But fate was a bitch. I got bombed by a stupid fucker who thought I slept with his wife. Now, I’ve transmigrated into a flop fantasy novel my best friend wrote. The same one which I “improved” by butchering it into a game. Not as Villain. Not as the protagonist. Nope. I transmigrated as Rael Von Ashborn. An Extra. The same one, who was going to die in a few days because he kissed a married woman. Not just any woman but the Duchess of the Empire. Now, I’ve got two options: Unlock a powerful class... Or die at the hands of a psychopathic duke with a god-tier skill set. But naturally, fate decided to screw me over again. [YOU HAVE AWAKENED: JESTER CLASS] A joke of a class. Oh and did I mention my maid’s a gorilla? Right. Welcome to my hell. Or as the sadistic author of this world called it... “Extra’s Supremacy.”
