“Thank you.” Soren bowed his head in a polite manner. “Then, should we exchange the details right now, or would you prefer to write them down?”
“Speaking is fine.” Nuelia replied as she adjusted her posture. “Since we both understand high-level culinary techniques, explaining the process, the steps, and energy flow verbally should be enough. However, let’s be as detailed as possible, in case we miss any subtle nuances in the energy integration or the process itself.”
“Alright, then I will start first,” Soren said and started explaining the whole process as requested, while occasionally helping Ethea drink tea, eat some snacks, and asking if she was not bored.
Nuelia listened intently, still ending up taking out a quill and a piece of paper to note down the important parts.
Eventually, Soren finished his explanation and allowed Nuelia to ask questions. Once she finished and understood everything, it was Soren’s turn to listen.
Surprisingly, Nuelia was great at explaining the intricate details of her dish, even more organized than Soren had expected and did. Fortunately, his cognitive abilities and memory had reached a level where he could absorb every piece of information without missing a single detail. He could even visualize himself cooking it in his mind now; however, he still took out a notebook and wrote down everything to keep a physical record for future reference.
As they finished the exchange, Soren couldn’t help but be curious about something. “Lady Nuelia, don’t you want me to swear an oath or sign some kind of contract?”
After all, he could share her recipe with others once he left. Of course, he wasn’t actually going to do that. He just wanted to remind her that trusting someone completely without any legal protection could prove dangerous.
“…” Nuelia stared at him, her lips curling up again. “Then tell me, will you spread it around to anyone else?”
“…No.”
“Then that’s it.” Nuelia chuckled. “And I trust your character, Mr. Soren. Even if you did end up sharing it with others, I believe you would probably do it for free again and to help people in need. So, there’s no need for any binding oaths between us.”
Soren looked at her for a moment, surprised by the sheer depth of her confidence in him. A sense of gratitude washed over him as he closed his notebook and put it away.
“I appreciate the faith you place in me,” he said in a sincere tone. “I will make sure to honor it.”
Nuelia nodded, her posture relaxing further as she leaned back slightly. “Good. Now that we’ve settled that, you should try practicing the recipe as soon as you can. Because that’s what I am gonna do, hehe~.”
“I will give it a try.” Soren smiled back. “Well then, we are going to take our leave.”
“Alright, then let me walk you out to the gate.” Nuelia offered as she stood up.
Soren complied, and the trio made their way back to the exit through the garden. Once they reached the gate, Soren turned toward her and bowed again. “…Let’s meet again, Lady Nuelia.”
“See you tomorrow~” Nuelia waved at the couple. “Bye~”
She watched as they walked away, their figures fading into the distance.
’…Why do I feel like he was bidding farewell?’
She racked her brains but couldn’t find a plausible answer, so she just shrugged and made her way back to the garden, excited to try out the ’Our Life’ right away.
’I’ll surprise Ruelia with this when I get back home~’

Later evening.
Soren and Ethea finally finished their preparations and tied up loose ends, ready to set out.
’Is this really ok?’ Ethea asked as they stood at the door. ’Perhaps… nothing will happen, and you might win the competition like today?’
’…I want to… But I don’t want to risk it.’ Soren replied with a sigh. ’Besides, I think my chances of winning are actually low. I became certain of it after talking with Lady Nuelia earlier. So, I think it’s actually better if I leave now. At least, I won’t embarrass myself in front of everyone.’
He knew his own capabilities.
’Huh? There’s no way that would happen.’ Ethea countered, crossing her arms as she looked at him with conviction. ’You saw how impressed everyone was with your creation! Dear, you have far more skill than you give yourself credit for.’
’Haha, thank you for trusting me this much,’ Soren chuckled. ’But I am not going to change my mind. We already spent enough time here. However, since we got everything we wanted in the end, I guess it was a worthwhile trip after all.’
’…’ Ethea stared at him and sighed internally, choosing not to comment any further. ’Then, let’s go.’
Soren nodded and wheeled her outside.
They had to use their artifacts to change their appearances to get out without being noticed, too. However, the reception lady immediately recognized them since she was the one who welcomed them to the hotel. Soren had to make up an excuse to her when she asked and apologized if their service had fallen short of expectations.
However, no matter what he said, she didn’t believe him and almost ended up crying.
Fortunately, Soren had his reliable partner, Ethea, who stepped in and handled the situation smoothly, giving them the perfect opening to slip away into the night without further delay.
’Hoo, thanks a lot, dear.’ Soren wiped away the nonexistent sweat from his forehead. ’I didn’t think she would get that emotional just because we were leaving the hotel. I can’t imagine how she would react if she knew we were leaving the city.’
’It’s alright,’ Ethea chuckled. ’This just shows how much the locals love you now. They hold you in high regard after everything you did.’
’Haha, guess you’re right.’ Soren chuckled himself, recalling all the cheers he received. ’But that only means we need to hurry and reach the gate before anyone else recognizes us or notices our departure.’
’Thankfully, we can travel in a car.’
’Mm…’ Soren agreed as he helped her sit in the passenger seat. ’Let’s hope we won’t get recognized once we reach the gate…’
