“Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.”

Love cursed repeatedly under her breath, unable to believe what was happening to her right now.

“How? How did he get this video?” She asked herself for the nth time, pacing around the room, angry at how small and suffocating it was.

She was losing her mind.

If Klaus posted this video on the Net, she was completely doomed. No matter how much Love hated commoners, she knew it was them who had built her modelling career.

It was them commenting on her posts, following her, creating fan clubs. No nobles would ever do such a thing.

Then what would happen if those commoners saw how she really viewed them?

Love shuddered at the thought.

“I cannot let this happen!” She shouted, her face red with anger.

She began racking her brain for any kind of solution. It didn’t matter what. She needed something to stop this from happening.

She needed to stop Klaus from posting it, no matter what.

’And that’s only possible if I have something on him in return! Something I could threaten him with!’

But what?

Love wasn’t even considering begging for forgiveness. She would rather die than give that insecure bitch the satisfaction.

She needed a way. And after thinking hard about it, Love landed on the one thing that always destroyed men like Klaus.

The one thing… that destroyed all men.

She halted mid-step, lowering her head to look at her own body. Her eyes lit with a light of madness and chaos, and that light intensified as her lips pulled into a wide, cold, devilish smile.

“You want to play with me?” She whispered dangerously. “I’ll play with you, Klaus. I damn bloody well will.”

Without any further hesitation, she grabbed her key and left her room.

She needed someone.

She needed…

…a witness.

While Love had begun scheming to keep her dreams and ambitions alive, Klaus sat cross-legged beneath his bed, training.

“I won’t let this matter with Love distract me any further.” He whispered, his voice deeply serious, his thoughts on Cassius. “I can’t fall behind this much. I can’t.”

He clenched his fist tight, thinking of how embarrassingly weak he’d looked next to Cassius.

He didn’t care about Emrys. That man could be stronger than him, and Klaus wouldn’t give a damn.

But Cassius?

That was his childhood friend. That was the boy he’d protected when they were nothing but toddlers, a boy who couldn’t do anything for himself because of how spoiled his family had made him.

Cassius had been weak. Utterly weak.

And that was why he, and Natalia, and even Keisha, used to look after him; even though Keisha always failed at it, being so clumsy and prone to crying.

But it didn’t change the fact that they had been his friends and protectors.

Now Cassius could beat them all without breaking a single sweat.

How could Klaus accept that?

“This isn’t enough.” He gritted his teeth, looking at the whirlwind spinning atop his hand. “I need more. Windy… I need more than this.”

Windy looked at her master with a sad face and sighed. “But Klaus… you can’t hold more than this level within you right now. You need to grow stronger first.”

“I’ll find a way.” Klaus insisted, glaring at his Spirit. “Windy, I can’t stay this weak. Tell me how to get the Sigil of Wind. I won’t wait any longer.”

“You’ll die.”

“I’m dying of shame every day.” He spat bitterly. “What could be worse than that?”

Windy fell silent, then slowly her face shed all traces of childishness. In that moment, it was the face of a spirit who had lived for untold years, looking at her chosen one.

She could see Klaus growing impatient, his confidence in himself at terrible risk because of how monstrous his friend had become.

But…

’How can I tell you that you’re no less great than him? How, my chosen one? You could be so much more if you… simply stopped looking at him.’

But telling Klaus that would be useless. She knew him better than he knew himself.

That’s why…

“In one week.” Windy said. “In one week, if you succeed in mastering Spirit Form, I’ll tell you how to obtain the Sigil of Wind.”

“Spirit Form?”

“Yes. The same state that Storm boy entered during the Test. As one chosen by a Spirit-affiliated bloodline, you’re more deserving of that state than he is.”

Klaus grinned at her words. “No going back, Windy.”

Windy mirrored his grin. “With how distracted you are, I don’t think I’ll need to worry about that.”

He rolled his eyes. “Love isn’t my priority. I don’t waste time on stupid girls.”

Windy only smiled. Klaus scoffed and continued his training.

Now he had a goal to achieve.

Spirit Form. In one week.

“Wait for me, Cassius.”

“Wait for me, Cass!!” Isolde shouted, calling out to Cassius, who was walking ahead of her.

They were on an empty street, alone with not a single soul around, walking toward a destination Isolde had deemed secret for now.

At her wife’s loud words, Cassius stopped, turned his head, and looked down at her.

His lips twitched briefly before he stifled a sigh.

“Why are you wearing heels if you’re not used to them?” He asked, watching her struggle to take one steady step forward in her tall black heels.

“This is a date.” Isolde narrowed her eyes, annoyed. “Our very first date, if you think about it. I wanted it to be memorable.”

“By wearing heels?”

“Shut up, Cass. Help me instead. My feet are dying.”

“You fuckinbet they are.” He muttered, before approaching her slowly, taking in her attire as he went.

She was truly beautiful. Wearing a crimson robe that framed her body perfectly, sleeveless to show off her pale, smooth skin.

Her hair was braided cutely into one large knot, adorned with gold rings. Her face was a picture of dazzling features, each perfectly complementing the other.

And her smile. Oh, her damned smile.

Cassius found himself suppressing the urge to kiss her every time he saw her lips curl into one.

He wasn’t the only one admiring the other. Isolde was doing the same.

And with how much Cassius’s charm had increased, she was struggling to keep her emotions in check.

Struggling to wait until their official marriage to finally become one with him.

The two looked at each other, breath close, the dark sky stretched over them, providing enough cover to do whatever they wanted.

But they did nothing.

“You should take those off.” Cassius said, looking at her feet.

“And walk with what?”

“I’ll give you mine, if you want. I don’t mind going barefoot.” He looked at her. “Do you want to?”

Isolde smiled, leaned in, and kissed his lips. “Thank you, but I have a better offer.”

“Which is?”

“Pick me up.” She said, grinning, lifting her arms like a baby. “Pick me up and let’s go. I have a beautiful place in mind tonight. I’ll show you my favourite spot.”

Cassius chuckled. “Alright, darling.”

He crouched down and picked her up easily. Isolde wrapped her arms around his neck, resting her head against his chest.

The rhythm of his heartbeat was steady, calming her instinctively.

“Next destination?” Cassius asked.

Isolde let out a big smile.

“Love’s Island.”
