Last Gun Alchemist Chapter 474

The grand first year combat festival: the wax light of brun ii[ … words ]

[ … words ]

Silence had fallen over the stage, but not in the stands of the Arena.

The crowd was still filled with noise.

People were talking excitedly about the battle, while others were watching the Holographic Screens that displayed the fight from different angles. Even those watching the Combat Festival live on Skynet had begun to notice something strange.

Both Tristin and Cyrus had stopped fighting.

At least, only for a brief moment.

Whoosh!

A violent gust of wind swept across the fighting platform, clearing away the remaining cloud of smoke around Tristin.

His figure slowly became visible.

A yellow Light Barrier covered his entire body, protecting him from the explosion Cyrus had just created.

But now…

Tristin was also holding a heavy Light Blade.

The weapon looked much larger than the small Light Daggers he had used earlier.

His Cognis also surged out of his body.

Faint yellow Cognis, mixed with the shape of lightning, flowed across his body and flickered around his arms.

The wind around him was pushed away.

Dust scattered from his feet and rolled across the platform.

The air itself seemed to shake slightly under the pressure of the Cognis he was releasing.

“I will make you suffer, you loser.”

Tristin spoke in a deep, angry tone.

His golden eyes glared at Cyrus.

Cyrus looked at him.

He could feel the difference in pressure now.

“That’s a lot of Cognis flowing out.”

Cyrus said to himself.

His expression became awkward.

He tilted his head slightly while placing his right hand on his waist and his other hand against his chin.

“I’m beginning to wonder who is stronger between you or Prince Charles.”

He looked genuinely thoughtful.

And that expression only made Tristin angrier.

Tristin was standing in front of him with a large Light Blade in his hand, his Cognis surging through his body, yet Cyrus was still acting as though he were trying to solve some random question.

Tristin’s hand tightened around the Light Blade.

His rage finally broke through his remaining patience.

“This fucking wax!”

Prince Tristin swung his Light Blade.

A large amount of Cognis flowed into the weapon and followed the movement of his swing.

The blade flashed.

An upward vertical Light Slash immediately flew out from it.

The attack tore through the air toward Cyrus.

Cyrus was still looking thoughtful.

Then his eyes shifted.

He noticed the Light Slash coming toward him.

His body reacted almost immediately.

He took several quick steps and shifted his body just enough for the Light Slash to pass beside him.

The edge of the attack brushed against his training clothes.

The fabric fluttered from the force.

The Light Slash continued forward.

It traveled past Cyrus and struck the Arena’s force field.

Boom!

The defensive field easily canceled the attack.

The Light Slash broke apart into countless particles of light before disappearing.

Cyrus’s scarlet eyes immediately sharpened.

That wasn’t the end of Tristin’s assault.

More Light Slashes emerged from Tristin’s position.

“Tsk.”

Cyrus clicked his tongue.

“This Prince really wants to kill me.”

He jumped backward again.

A horizontal Light Slash passed through the space where his body had been.

Cyrus landed and immediately shifted his body to the left.

Another vertical Light Slash passed beside him.

Then another.

The attacks continued coming.

The speed of the Light Slashes was extremely high, moving at what was close to relative light speed.

But Cyrus continued moving.

His body twisted and shifted between the attacks, keeping just enough distance to avoid being struck.

One Light Slash passed over his shoulder.

Another moved past his side.

A third cut through the space in front of him.

Cyrus didn’t stop.

His movements remained fluid even as the attacks continued.

At the same time, his left hand reached into his Space Bag.

He pulled out more bottles of Dragon’s Tear.

Without slowing down, he threw them toward the rapidly approaching Light Slashes.

Clap!

Cyrus brought his hands together.

Cognis flowed through his veins and into his arms before gathering in his palms.

A Flame Alchemy Circle formed between his hands.

The moment the Alchemy Circle was completed, scarlet Cognis in the form of lightning shot out from it.

The lightning traveled toward the glass bottles Cyrus had thrown.

The bottles were moving directly toward the incoming Light Slashes.

Once the scarlet Cognis touched the glass bottles…

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Numerous explosions erupted across the battlefield.

The Light Slashes collided with the Flame Alchemy explosions, causing flashes of light and fire to spread through the middle of the two fighters.

Smoke quickly covered the area between them.

For a moment, neither fighter could clearly see the other.

But it didn’t matter.

Neither of them had stopped fighting.

A horizontal Light Slash suddenly shot out from the smoke.

It moved directly toward Cyrus.

Cyrus bent down.

His movement was fast and flexible.

The Light Slash passed only inches above his nose.

He could feel the sharp pressure of the attack as it passed.

“AHHHH!!! Got you now, loser!”

Tristin’s voice echoed from above Cyrus.

Cyrus’s eyes immediately darted upward.

He saw Tristin descending from the air.

The Prince was holding his Light Blade with both hands, the weapon pointed downward as he fell toward Cyrus.

Cyrus’s expression changed faintly.

“Shit.”

He immediately threw another glass bottle toward the descending Prince.

Clap!

His hands came together.

He performed another Flame Alchemy with a fast ignition.

Boom!

A small explosion erupted as Tristin continued descending.

Smoke and flame quickly consumed the area around the airborne Prince.

Cyrus moved away from the attack.

Then Tristin’s voice came through the smoke.

“Your flames are weak, just like how you are weak!!”

The Prince shouted with a mocking expression.

The smoke began clearing.

Tristin’s Light Blade struck the ground.

BOOM!

The impact cracked the platform.

Small rocks were thrown into the air from the point where the blade stabbed into the ground.

Tristin immediately turned.

Cyrus had managed to evade the descending attack.

The Prince immediately swung his Light Blade toward him.

Cyrus bent down sharply.

The blade passed over his head.

A few strands of his scarlet hair were cut away.

They fell onto the platform.

“The only thing you are good at doing is dodging like the rat you are!”

Tristin continued swinging his Light Blade.

Cyrus kept evading.

The Prince’s attacks came one after another.

Cyrus stepped backward.

He shifted his body.

He ducked under another slash.

Then he moved again as the Light Blade swept through the space where he had been standing.

The attacks continued forcing him backward.

Even so, Cyrus managed to keep avoiding them.

“Just die already!!!”

Tristin shouted.

His frustration was now becoming obvious.

Cyrus had continued evading him for too long, without getting grazed once.

The Prince passed even more Cognis into his Light Blade.

The yellow glow around the weapon became brighter.

He swung.

A much larger vertical Light Slash shot toward Cyrus.

Cyrus barely weaved around the attack.

The Light Slash passed close enough that he could feel its pressure against his skin.

Before he could fully regain his position, Tristin had already moved.

The Prince dashed toward his side.

His fist was tightly clenched.

Bam!

Tristin’s fist drove hard into Cyrus’s arm.

Cyrus quickly raised it to block the punch, but the impact still forced him backward.

His shoes scraped against the platform as he took several steps to absorb the force.

His arm felt numb from the blow.

Tristin grinned.

“Hahaha! You think you can escape me?”

He immediately moved forward.

He didn’t give Cyrus any time to fully recover.

One step.

Then another.

The Prince closed the distance again.

But as he took his second step…

Clap!

Cyrus’s hands came together.

Tristin’s golden eyes moved downward.

A scarlet-red glow appeared below him.

His expression changed.

Boom!

An explosion ignited directly in front of him.

Flames swallowed his body.

Smoke spread across the platform.

Cyrus stood several steps away.

He exhaled.

“Ahh…”

He looked toward the position where Tristin had been caught in the Flame Alchemy Explosion.

The smoke continued rising.

Cyrus watched it carefully.

“I keep telling you, weakling.”

Tristin’s voice came from inside the smoke.

The smoke slowly cleared.

The Light Blade was gone.

In its place was a Light Barrier.

The yellow barrier covered Tristin’s body once again.

He had managed to switch from offense to defense quickly enough to protect himself.

“You aren’t even a genius, and you are trying to use your brains to face a talent like me?”

Tristin pointed at himself.

He found Cyrus’s struggles hilarious.

“I can easily create my Light Barrier with how fast my Alchemy ignition is, then I can quickly switch to offense whenever I want as well.”

He walked forward.

His hands spread apart as he spoke.

The yellow Light Barrier moved with him, remaining around his body as he took each step.

“What can your mediocre strength possibly do to stop a talent like me?”

Cyrus remained silent.

He watched Tristin approach.

Clap!

His hands came together again.

Another Flame Alchemy began forming.

Tristin immediately laughed.

“Fool… you can’t hurt me!!”

He shouted mockingly.

“Your weak flames can’t do anything to m—”

Boom!

A small explosion interrupted him.

“Argh!”

Tristin’s face suddenly moved violently to the left, as if someone had punched him directly in the face.
