“‘The Goddess of Legends’ from the Greek Domain, Miss Ramula.” Cavendish softly murmured her title. “You should know that even the gods do not easily forgive betrayal, do they?”

Hearing this, Ramula furrowed her brows slightly. The golden light enveloping her body gradually dimmed as a look of hesitation washed over her.

“The gods indeed do not forgive betrayal.” Ramula nodded. “You are right, sir. You have your stance, and it was rude of me to interfere.”

“Excellent, Miss Ramula. There is no need for any conflict between us. Please, just rest off to the side.”

Ramula gave a slight nod and sat down on the sidelines.

Cavendish smiled faintly and turned his gaze toward Asuka. “‘Time Master’ Miss Shiranui, would your seniors allow you to cast Onmyodo magic within the history of other nations?”

“I don’t care!!!” Asuka shouted, her body trembling slightly. “Please don’t say such things to me! My seniors would never be as terrifying as you! Please let Sister Chada go right now! Otherwise, I’m going to attack!!”

“Cough, cough!” Du Yu coughed a few times and slowly staggered to his feet. “Alright, Ah Xiang, you are a solid friend.”

“Ah! Senior Du Yu?!” Shiranui Asuka hurriedly turned around to support him. “Are you alright?”

“You can’t blame Chada for this. I was the one who insisted on helping her. Why not take me in exchange for her? You’ve already killed her daughter, hasn’t she suffered enough? There is no need to kill her too, right?”

“I have been finding this quite strange,” Cavendish said. “Have you known each other for a long time? Why would you give up such a massive profit to help her for free? Do you realize that was a hundred million pounds?”

Du Yu slowly took a step forward and said, “We haven’t known each other for long. We’re just ordinary friends. Wouldn’t you casually do a favor for a friend?”

After Cavendish finished speaking, he threw a vicious punch right into Chada’s abdomen.

Chada instantly spat out a mouthful of blood, her entire body going completely limp.

“As expected… it was you… who killed… Reginald…” she rasped weakly.

“Yes, yes.” Cavendish smiled. “But please do not misunderstand, Miss Schwan. I pierced him straight through the heart, so he did not suffer nearly as much. But you… you have truly infuriated me, Miss Schwan.”

With that said, he raised his foot and directly crushed Chada’s other leg.

Chada seemed to have lost all sensation; even as her leg was pulverized, she didn’t make a single sound.

“Dammit!” Du Yu felt a surge of guilt, believing he was the cause of all this. He had never imagined it would invite such a massive disaster. “Y-You let Chada go first! We can talk this out!”

Cavendish offered a faint smile, effortlessly swinging Chada by her arm and hurling her toward Du Yu.

Du Yu leaped into the air, barely managing to catch Chada in his arms before gently lowering her to the ground.

Shiranui Asuka hastily pulled out a pair of gloves, slipping them onto her hands as they began to glow with a bright white light.

“Senior Du Yu! I know some healing magic, I’ll treat her right away!”

Du Yu nodded and stood up, shielding both Shiranui Asuka and Chada behind his back as he stared down Cavendish.

This man was simply far too terrifying. He was powerful, cold-blooded, and completely devoid of emotion. Du Yu knew he had absolutely zero leverage for any negotiation; his only option was to stall for time as much as possible.

Dong Qianqiu immediately dispatched personnel to tend to Chada’s physical body back at the Legend Administration. Just like on the monitor, Chada’s limbs were shattered, and her ribs had suffered massive fractures. She lay on the teleportation device, continuously coughing up blood.

“Step down, everyone. I am here.” Taishang Laojun slowly stood up and walked over to Chada’s side, remarking, “I did not expect to encounter such a sudden emergency. Fortunately, I brought a medicinal pill with me.”

He pried open Chada’s mouth and slipped the pill inside. Chada’s complexion improved slightly, but her gruesome injuries remained a shocking sight.

“Her arm has been completely pulverized… perhaps there is still hope for her legs…” Golden light flared from Taishang Laojun’s hands as he placed them over Chada’s knees. However, it wasn’t long before his brows furrowed in dismay.

Du Yu gritted his teeth and said in a low voice, “Let me tell you something. I’ve always had a strict rule when I work.”

“Is that so? I’m listening.”

“Whoever I bring with me, I must bring back.”

“What a truly unfortunate conclusion.” Cavendish shook his head helplessly, turning with a smile to address the men behind him. “Kill them all. Leave no survivors.”

“Ah!” Dong Qianqiu gasped in alarm. The recall device still needed two more minutes before it could activate. Given their current state, could Du Yu and Yingning really hold out for two whole minutes?

Seeing the men slowly advancing toward Du Yu, Yingning decisively revealed herself.

“What an idiot,” Yingning muttered under her breath. “Didn’t I tell you that running away was our only option this time?”

“Yingning!” Du Yu was stunned. “What are you doing out here?! It’s too dangerous, get back inside!”

“Never mind.” Yingning shook her head. “I don’t know exactly what happened, but if you die, I will be trapped here in this distant British land. I never want to experience that feeling again, so we might as well give it everything we have.”

The group of men looked mildly surprised to see a woman suddenly materialize beside Du Yu, but they quickly regained their composure. It was merely one more life to extinguish, after all.

Du Yu’s mind raced as he quickly calculated their odds. ‘Even if Yingning is a female ghost with five thousand years of cultivation, can she really match a Great Luo Golden Immortal and four True Immortals?’

“Go… you all must go…” Chada forced out through gritted teeth. “Leave me behind…”

“Absolutely not!” Du Yu refused. “No matter what, I am not leaving you here! It’s my fault you’re hurt like this in the first place!”

“Senior… Du Yu…” Shiranui Asuka sobbed. “My healing magic… isn’t working on Senior Chada anymore… she won’t live much longer…”

“Won’t live much longer?!” Du Yu froze. “N-No, it’s fine! As long as we can get Chada out of here and have Taishang Laojun treat her, even if she only has one breath left, she will survive!”

Du Yu quickly helped prop Chada up and shouted to Asuka, “Ah Xiang! Figure out a way to push Chada through the portal first, then go immediately after her! I’ll be right behind you!”

“N-No…” Chada coughed up more blood and rasped, “The magic sustaining this portal is limited… it can only transport two people…”

“Only… two?!” Du Yu stared at the miniature portal, completely at a loss for what to do.

“Ah!” Yingning shrieked as she was sent crashing violently into the wall behind Du Yu.

“Yingning!”

Du Yu snapped his head around and saw that Cavendish had finally made his move, instantly shattering Yingning’s defensive line.

Dong Qianqiu’s hands trembled faintly. She stared at the monitor in profound anxiety, her heart burning with urgency yet utterly powerless to intervene. At that moment, a rather childish thought crossed her mind… ‘Would the Qianqiu Divine Art be of any use here?’

‘If I don’t do something right now, who else could possibly help Du Yu?’ Just as Dong Qianqiu was agonizing over this, she heard the steady sound of footsteps approaching from behind.

The footsteps drew closer, followed by a slow, frigidly calm voice resonating through the room. “That brat Du Yu deserves to take a few beatings; after all, he has an incredibly punchable face.
