The woman coughed up a large mouthful of blood and slowly sank to her knees. “How… how could a heartless monster like you exist in this world…”

“Heartless?” You Si pondered for a moment. In her memories, Time had never told any stories concerning humanity.

“Hey!” You Si walked up to the woman, reaching out to lift her chin. “You say I lack humanity? What does that mean?”

Knowing her death was inevitable, the woman let out a bitter laugh. “With your cold and callous nature… no one in this world will ever help you!”

“Oh?” You Si nodded thoughtfully. “Does that mean to find someone who genuinely wishes to become Time… one must first find humanity?”

She did not give the woman a single chance, instantly piercing straight through her heart.

As the woman collapsed, the two children behind her were revealed.

“Great power?” You Si furrowed her brows as she looked at the young boy. He was clearly radiating killing intent from head to toe, yet his words were full of praise for her. This bizarre contradiction greatly surprised the inexperienced You Si.

The boy named You did not answer. Instead, he continued kowtowing against the ground. With every strike of his head, he repeated, “The Goddess has great power,” until his forehead was completely smashed and bloody.

The younger child, trembling slightly, tugged at the kneeling boy and cried, “You, what are you doing? Get up, hurry… She killed our father and mother… She is a monster…”

“Yao! Kneel down, quickly!” You frantically pulled at the standing toddler. “The Goddess has boundless power, quickly pay your respects with me!”

Before the child named Yao could even react, You forced his head down to the dirt.

You kept repeating, “The Goddess has great power,” while kowtowing forcefully. The ground was already stained with the blood of both children. This strange behavior left You Si utterly bewildered.

“But I… but I am scared…” Yao burst into loud sobs. All of this was simply too much to accept for a boy who was barely two years old.

The surrounding scenery continuously cycled through spring, summer, autumn, and winter, while You Si just walked straight ahead.

After an unknown number of years had passed, the surrounding visions finally settled down, and You Si slowly came to a halt.

Du Yu blanked for a second and promptly stopped in his tracks as well.
