Legend Management Bureau Chapter 421
This humble one is ashamed[ … words ]

You Si thought about it over and over, but she simply could not swallow this anger.
These mortals had not yet been interrogated by her; they had no right to die.
“I am going to find this person,” You Si declared. “We will split up and search. If you find him, kill him without mercy.”
“Yes, Mother.” The two brothers nodded, leaping into the air and rushing toward the other villages.
You Si gritted her teeth and spat viciously, “I have not yet interrogated these mortals. They have no right to die.”
With that, she turned and left. Du Yu followed close behind.
Du Yu was growing increasingly confused.
The idea that someone was massacring the village alongside You Si truly sounded bizarre.
But the question was, why would Time show him this specific fragment?
You Si roamed through several nearby villages, but she found absolutely nothing.
The killer seemed incredibly cunning, leaving no clues behind.
Just as she was about to give up, she spotted a tiny figure on her way back.
It was a child, perhaps seven or eight years old. He had a shaved head and emitted a thick, dark aura. He was crouching beneath a large tree, wiping away tears.
You Si glanced at him, then pretended not to see him. She turned to leave, but after taking a few steps, something occurred to her, and she finally turned back.
Du Yu’s eyes slowly widened.
‘So that is how it is?’
He had seen this seven- or eight-year-old bald child before!
This was the young novice monk residing within the body of the Mahakala!
In other words, he was the true form of the Mahakala!
You Si encountered the Mahakala here… What did this mean?
“Hey!” You Si called out.
“Hmm?” The child slowly raised his head, looking at the woman in black standing before him. He was sobbing uncontrollably, his tear-streaked face looking incredibly pitiful and utterly aggrieved.
“Are your parents dead?” You Si asked.
“I… I do not have parents,” the little boy stammered. “I just suddenly came into this world…”
“Without parents, is there anyone else in this world worth crying over?”
The little boy slowly swallowed and said, “I am crying for the people in that village… They died such tragic deaths… Waaah…”
You Si gazed into the distance toward the village, then stated coldly, “If you stop crying, I will give you a reward.”
“A reward?”
“I will feed you, and in return, you will kill for me,” You Si offered smoothly, well-practiced in her routine. “I will teach you how to stand and speak, and you will call me ‘Mother’.”
“But… but I already know how to stand, and I can speak…” The little boy looked at You Si with a wronged expression. “I do not need anyone to teach me that…”
“Then I will teach you the methods of killing,” You Si corrected herself. “If you possess enough strength, you will no longer need to cry for those mortals.”
The little boy slowly stood up and asked, “Really?”
“Really.” You Si nodded. “All the Suffering in this world stems from one’s own incompetence.”
The little boy pondered for a moment before instantly breaking into a bright smile. “Yes! That is right! Mother! You are right!”
You Si turned around and continued in her icy tone, “That is more like it. Follow me.”
After speaking, she muttered quietly to herself, “What a strange child, actually crying for completely unrelated people. Do ‘humans’ really love sympathizing with their own kind that much?”
As the little boy walked forward, he mumbled softly under his breath, “So right… She is so right… If only I could have killed those people with a single strike, I would not be feeling this sad…”
The two were merely talking to themselves, but Du Yu, standing right beside them, heard every single word loud and clear.
“No! This is completely wrong!” Du Yu exclaimed. “You Si! You have absolutely no idea what kind of monster you have just unleashed… This boy is not crying over their deaths, but rather because his ‘method of killing was not clean and efficient enough’!”
Du Yu instantly recalled the gruesome states of the villagers’ corpses.
They had been battered by stones, slashed by sharp objects, and strangled to death.
This actually was not the handiwork of the Mahakala, but rather looked more like the villagers had engaged in Internecine Strife.
The Mahakala had stimulated the Evil within their hearts, instantly plunging the entire village into a living hell.
He was infuriated by his own incompetence; he was furious that he lacked direct methods to kill.
You Si led the Mahakala back to her hidden Cave Dwelling, then told him, “You have two older brothers above you, who are currently out running errands for me. From today onward, the three of you are my children.”
“Yes! Mother!” The little boy looked absolutely delighted. He now had his own ‘home’ and his own ‘mother’.
Yet, what perplexed You Si was that the sky was gradually darkening into night, and the Can Kui Brothers had still not returned home.
For the very first time, she felt a hint of worry. However, the word ‘worry’ had never existed in You Si’s dictionary, so she could neither explain nor comprehend the emotion.
“Those two young kids… did they forget the way home?” You Si slowly stood up, gazing out at the night sky. She wanted to go out and search for them, but she had no idea where they had gone.
“They said they would split up to search… They could not have been slaughtered, could they?”
It was not long before a man’s voice rang out from outside the cave: “Meng Sheng of the Mohist School requests an audience with the master of this cave!”
You Si froze. She had lived here for quite some days, yet this was the very first time someone had come knocking on her door. She stood rooted to the spot, unmoving.
When no response came after a while, the man outside raised his voice and shouted again, “Meng Sheng of the Mohist School requests an audience with the Goddess of this cave!”
You Si finally snapped back to reality and slowly walked out of the Cave Dwelling.
Standing before her was an ordinary-looking man clad in coarse clothes. He appeared entirely composed, showing no fear of her whatsoever.
“Who are you?” You Si asked. “I do not recall ever making a deal with you.”
“This humble one is a Mohist, surnamed Meng, named Sheng. I have come to deliver a message on behalf of my master.”
Du Yu pondered slightly… A ‘Mohist’? Could it be the ‘Mohist School’ from the ‘Hundred Schools of Thought’?
‘Not long ago I was still in the Primordial Era… Have we already reached the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Period?’
A sliver of coldness gleamed in You Si’s eyes. “Who is your master? Is he one of my people?”
“My master is but a humble peacemaker of the Mohist School. His name is not renowned, but today he happened to capture the Goddess’s two capable assistants alive, so he sent this humble one to deliver a message.”
“Captured alive…?” You Si gnashed her teeth. “What useless trash.”
The Mohist stared at You Si for a long time before stating expressionlessly, “My master says that if the Goddess ceases massacring the citizens within our borders, he will guarantee the safety of those two young heroes.”
You Si waved her hand lightly, silently chanting an incantation. The Mohist was abruptly dragged forward, and You Si locked her grip around his throat.
“Little boy, do you know who you are trying to bargain with?” Since the day she was born, You Si had never been threatened by a mortal. The sensation filled her with exceptional fury.
The Mohist’s face still betrayed no sign of fear. He merely spoke slowly:
“This humble one is ashamed… but since the Goddess worries for her two young heroes, it is only natural that there are others who worry for the mortals you have killed. I hope you will put yourself in their shoes and practice universal love for all under heaven.”
