The Caelith was falling wide, its burning mass on a course that would plow it into the ruined south a hundred miles clear of the arm, and a hundred miles was as good as a thousand when your target was an arm of a demon god.

So, the crazy calculation in my head was how I was going to move thirty kilometers of falling celestail stone moving at many times the speed of sound towards a moving target a hundred miles away.

I know, I know, it sounded crazy, but with my new Sovereign Tier skill, the way I perceived the world was changing, and what I deemed to be impossible before was opening itself before me.

The distance was not truly far when the scale of everything was placed in perspective; I mean… the single arm could be measured in miles, a literal moving mountain, and to hit it, then I had to turn this falling Caelith a few degrees and let the fall do the rest.

Even now, I did not have the strength to turn thirty kilometers of celestial stone. There was too much weight, momentum, and dozens of other forces working against me, but I was not a brute; I was a mage, and if I could not change the trajectory of the caelith by strength alone, then I needed another force, and that would be my weight.

The descriptions of Adamantium Titan may seem simple from the system’s description, but sometimes the simplest answers held the deepest mysteries… the sort of mysteries that I would spend my whole life learning about, and barely comprehend a small portion of it, because some things were just too big.

I called on Adamantium Titan, and I grew… Twenty feet. Forty. A hundred… Two hundred, a freaking titan of adamant standing on the apex of a falling mountain, my body denser with every foot, the Law of my flesh pouring mass into me the way the gate had poured essence, until I was a thing of unbreaking weight anchored to the nose of a comet.

This was the sort of change that the system could no longer describe, as Sovereign Tier was touching Laws, and this was the sort of power that threw away common sense… a mortal would see the capabilities of an Adept and call it magic; well, an Arcanist would see the capabilities of a Sovereign and call it magic.

Adamantium was a metal of pure magic that should not exist; in fact, I don’t think a single strand of Adamantium could be found in this world, but somehow, with Celestial Marrow as the primer, and the Law of Flesh as the trigger, something new and yet still broken had been born into this world.

My new size caused a tornado of flames and wind to blast out of me as I collided with the flaming air rushing past me. If before I could not be seen as the Caelith fell, now my presence could not be hidden… and yet, it was not over.

I sucked in a deep breath, the act drawing in a massive amount of heated air so hot it resembled flames into my chest, and I did not even feel it, and I threw the Loom… every thread that my Adamantium flesh could hold.

For a while now, my channels had been far stronger than my flesh; even though my flesh could place every Arcanist to shame, my channels were something else… they were so powerful they could resist Tribulations that would erase my flesh a hundred times over.

In many ways, my flesh would always be a weakness to my magic, and I suspected that a Sovereign would usually do away with their flesh for the most part, but my case was different, as the Earth Gates kept pumping so much Endurance into me that it birthed the Law of Flesh as a result, thereby changing the trajectory of my magus journey.

In short, for the first time since I gained my channels, I could unleash my magic to my true limits!

The threads that exploded from me were in millions. Each was as thick as a lightning bolt, and at first they traveled high into the sky, and it seemed as if the Caelith was spitting out a million bolts of lightning.

The sound of thunder tearing the atmosphere traveled for hundreds, if not thousands, of miles, and even with my Adamantium flesh, my ears rang for half a second before my body adjusted, and I knew from that instant that I would no longer find this level of sound a hindrance.

The lightning fell, drawn by my will, and it sank deep into the burning stone and wound around my vast adamant body, lashing me to the Caelith until the mountain and I were one falling thing.

In the continent of Khoreshen, far in the east, where there were nothing but mountains and vast monasteries, I heard they had Drakes there, lesser cousins of Dragons who once rules the skies, and their mages were able to tame some of these mighty beasts using their will and magic, and at the moment, I felt like I was in their shoes, but what I was holding was not a dragon, but a star falling from the sky.

In an instant, the falling pyramid no longer burned with flames but with lightning as well.

I roared as I held on to my threads and pulled, as I made myself an anchor. I could not push the Caelith, even with my weight, but I could hang off the edge of it, and use all of my two hundred feet of adamantine mass, coupled with the millions of lightning tethers, and let my weight drag on the fall.

By all the lights in heaven, I wish Aurora was here with me as I made myself the stone in a sling, and the Caelith’s nose, feeling the drag, came around with a loud groan that shattered space.

This change was small, just a degree, but it was the start, and I roared in focus, my Anima emptying to nothing as I shifted the Caelith another two degrees, and the burning hundred-mile tail behind us swung across the sky.

The comet’s course bent, from the empty ruin toward the pale arm, and then beyond it.

The arm was moving, tearing east, shattering space as it went, so I did not aim at where it was. I aimed at where it would be. I had moved the Caelith so that the falling Celestial construct and the advancing arm were two lines drawn toward the same point in the burning air.

And then in my soul, I felt it lock, and I stopped hauling and prepared myself for what was to come as I let the world do the rest.

We came down on her like the fist of a heaven that had forgotten mercy, and I will carry the sight of it into every loop that follows.

The arm felt it coming. I felt her notice, the vast attention swinging up from wherever the rest of her clawed toward the surface. It was the same attention that had stopped the world when she woke, and for one instant the advancing limb hesitated.

“Ttsss… How dare thou…”

Too late, I howled at the sky as we hit.

Synopsis

Elric Voss is sixteen years old, two ranks above useless—and he wakes up one hour before everyone around him dies.

The Caelith Mourne expedition has made camp at the base of a sky-fallen pyramid, a structure over ten thousand years old. Deep within its ancient chambers, something sealed for millennia has finally been disturbed.

When the ground splits open and demons pour forth, the thirty-one members of the expedition are slaughtered within ten minutes.

Then Elric wakes up again.

Same tent. Same wind. Same impossible pyramid looming in the sky. One hour on the clock.

He dies to the first demon in seconds. Then again. Then again...

Magus Infinite is the gripping tale of a young acolyte who has nothing—no great power, no secret destiny, no mentor who believes in him. Armed only with grit and the cruel gift of repetition, he grinds through the same hour of carnage until nothing in it can kill him anymore.

Every death teaches him something new. Every reset sharpens his instincts. The spell that begins as a mere candle-flicker grows into a bolt that cracks the sky.

The boy who couldn't survive two seconds against a single demon slowly becomes the only thing standing between the pyramid and the world beyond it.

The action never stops. Neither does Elric.

This is not a story about a chosen hero. It is a story about what repetition does to a person—and what a person can become when failure is not an option, but a lesson.
