THE NEXT scenario was a bit heart-warming.

Tilly was actually torn.

She hated Kyro and Yumi with all her heart.

However, the Moon God and the White Snake that they had been watching in this strange world were just two people who got fucked up by the gods that they trusted.

But, at least, the scenario finally showed them Kiho’s birth.

Kyro and Yumi had become parents once again.

Tilly and Kiho both turned to the person who spoke.

[The Devil is back.]

This time, the Devil was using the body of the old woman who helped Yumi give birth.

[That woman is a part of the Snake Clan, and the Devil is possessing her body.]

Tilly and Kiho instantly knew because the Devil’s demonic power was leaking.

[As if he’s not trying to hide it.]

And, so, Kyro and Yumi also knew right away.

“How did you even know that my wife has given birth?” Kyro asked, standing in front of Yumi and Baby Kiho protectively. “Have you been watching us all this time?”

“Only when your lovely wife got pregnant,” the Devil said. It was awkward since the Devil was using his own voice while possessing the old woman. “I wanted to know if you were giving birth to a demigod or a full one.”

Oh, right.

Yumi was originally a human.

[Hence, Kiho was supposed to be half-god and half-human. But, obviously, that wasn’t the case since my husband was born a full god.]

“It’s interesting how your son was born a full god,” the Devil said, peeking at Yumi and Baby Kiho behind Kyro. “You only transferred your wife’s soul to the body of the Snake Goddess. Was your son born a god because you conceived him with your wife who possessed the body of a goddess?”

Kyro was about to say something, but Yumi grabbed his sleeves to stop him.

“Please don’t talk as if the Snake Goddess and I were two different people,” Yumi said in a polite yet stern voice. “I am now the Snake Goddess. And I wish to forget the time I lived as a human.”

It was hard not to feel bad for Yumi after hearing that.

Especially after seeing the devastated look on Kyro’s face after hearing what his wife said.

[She wants to forget the bad things that the damned priest did to her and her daughter.]

And Kyro knew that.

Tilly tried to feel indifferent towards Yumi and Kyro, but she couldn’t completely hate them. Not at that moment, at least.

[Yumi and Kyro need therapy.]

“Ah, I apologize, my lady,” the Devil, who obviously understood that Yumi was unwell mentally, apologized right away. In fairness, he sounded sincere. “I misspoke.”

Yumi nodded, her face beaming as if she was happy with the Devil’s apology.

To Yumi, it probably meant that the Devil had acknowledged her as the Snake Goddess, and not just a human who possessed the goddess’ body.

[Yumi really hates her former self even though none of what happened to her was her fault.]

“What are you doing here?” Kyro asked the Devil, changing the topic. It was obvious that he was in pain because of how Yumi was behaving. He probably realized that his wife hadn’t healed yet. “If you wanted to talk to me, you could have just summoned me.”

“I just wanted to take a look at your wife and son,” the Devil said, shrugging. “But now that I’ve seen them, we should move to another place and have a private talk.”

THAT WAS how the scenario changed again.

This time, Tilly and Kiho found themselves in a simple yet elegant drawing room.

Kyro was having tea with the Devil who was still possessing the old woman’s body.

“Let’s make this conversation quick,” Kyro said in an impatient voice. “My wife is just next room, but she still gets anxious when she doesn’t see me for so long.”

“Then I’ll get straight to the point,” the Devil said. “I can’t use your son’s body as a vessel.”

Oh.

Tilly was a bit surprised to hear that. “Honey, I’m glad you were born a full god. Had you been born a half-human, the Devil may have used you as his vessel.”

The Devil would have been able to destroy the world if that happened.

But worst of all…

“I wouldn’t have met you if I was born a god only to be used as the Devil’s vessel,” Kiho said, pausing for a moment. “But I’m glad to know that I was born while Kyro was still a god. That means I don’t carry the Devil’s blood, and that I didn’t accidentally pass it down to our children.”

Tilly nodded in agreement.

“Moon God, I need a human to become my vessel,” the Devil said. “If it’s a god, it won’t work since my demonic power will only kill the celestial body of a divine being.”

“But a human can’t handle your demonic power.”

“Only if I possess a human body in one go.”

Kyro knitted his eyebrows. “What do you mean by that?”

“If we slowly bring my body parts to the human world by possessing different humans one at a time, then it’s possible. You have to make a small sacrifice, though.”

“What do you mean by that?”

“You have to slowly abandon your celestial body, Moon God.”

Tilly and Kiho both flinched at that.

Because the realization had hit them at the same time.

[Is this why Kyro doesn’t have his original body anymore?]

Tilly thought they were about to uncover a very important piece of information.

However…

“Tell me more about it,” Kyro said. “How do I abandon my body without dying.”

The Devil put a hand on his nose. “Let me kick out some uninvited guests first.”

What?

“Tilly!”

It happened so fast.

The Devil stood up and Kiho yelled her name desperately.

And when Tilly came to her senses.

ARGH!

She couldn’t breathe.

Tilly couldn’t breathe because the Devil was strangling her.

The blasted creature was so strong despite possessing the body of an old woman.

And, worst of all…

[The Devil is omnipresent!]

“You have the scent of the Sun God, young lady,” the Devil said, obviously impressed. “And, yet, you’re a human.”

Tilly grabbed the Devil’s arms. “Let. Go.”

The Devil laughed. “Interesting— a human capable of wielding the power of gods.”
