September 9th, 20:30, Iceland, on a snow mountain near Reykjavik.
The snow mountain was silent, with no one around. Lin Xingshi was taking a walk alone on the snow mountain, her footprints stretching far into the distance.
She looked up at the aurora in the night sky and muttered to herself:
“Do you regret it… signing a contract with me, making you not at all free?”
“No regrets.” Little Nian Beast’s voice came from her mind.
“I don’t believe it.” Lin Xingshi shook her head, her fiery red hair gently swaying, “You’re so restless, always traveling around the world. Staying in my mind must be so stifling.”
“Then my dear master, what do you want me to do?”
Lin Xingshi thought for a moment, “If I were to unbind with you now, would that restore your freedom?”
“My body is already dead, only the soul and part of my power remain. Unbinding me won’t do any good; I’ll just… disappear completely.”
“I see…”
Lin Xingshi paused for a moment, murmuring, not knowing if it was with relief or melancholy, “Then you’ll have to endure a lifetime of staying with me.”
Little Nian Beast suddenly went silent, remaining silent for a very long time.
On the snow mountain, only the sound of the cold wind howling remained. Lin Xingshi stared alone at the brightly lit city in the distance, suddenly dazed for a moment, then gently tested:
“Little Nian?”
Little Nian Beast did not respond.
“Are you angry?”
Little Nian Beast still did not respond.
“Why aren’t you speaking? Don’t scare me.”
At this moment, the world felt empty, and the snow mountain was desolate. Lin Xingshi stood still, a sense of foreboding creeping into her heart, repeatedly talking to herself. But no matter what she did, she heard no response from Little Nian Beast.
Lin Xingshi felt a bit flustered, “Little Nian… where did you go?”
After a while, a boy suddenly emerged from the forest ahead.
“Lin Xingshi, I’m right here.”
Ji Minghuan spoke as he walked toward her against the wind and snow.
He rubbed his hands, exhaled a breath, and wrapped his scarf tighter.
“You…” Lin Xingshi was slightly taken aback.
She had a feeling the boy seemed familiar, but she couldn’t recall where she had seen him before.
“Little Nian?” After a moment, she called out the name.
“Yes, I’m right here…” Ji Minghuan rolled his eyes at her, “Lin Xingshi, want to travel with me? We have a lot of people, just missing you.”

September 10th, 17:30, at sunset, China, Hai Fan City,
The sunset leaned westward, and the beach and sky were both a blush of red.
Ji Minghuan and Kong Youling squatted on the beach, playing with shells for a while, then enjoyed the breeze, and finally sat by the sea, watching the sun slowly sink below the horizon.
“Do you think Xiao Chi would like the sea?” Kong Youling suddenly asked.
“I don’t know; maybe.” Ji Minghuan gently shook his head, then stood up, holding Kong Youling’s hand as they slowly left the beach.
The two entered Hai Fan City, bustling with activity. The narrow streets were lined with stalls, and the lanterns on either side stretched like runway lights, the dim evening market glowing with a slight red light.
They walked lightly through the fallen leaves, waving to the old man selling buns by the roadside.
After a while, Ji Minghuan, with Kong Youling, stopped in front of a brightly lit residential building, lowering his head in a daze.
“Don’t run away.” Kong Youling gently took his hand.
Ji Minghuan nodded, reached out, and pressed the doorbell.
After a short wait, someone opened the door, and there in the entrance stood a figure with a high ponytail, dressed in a blue and white school uniform, a popsicle dangling from her mouth.
Ji Minghuan slowly lifted his head, looking at her for a moment.
For a while, one stood in the shadow of the entrance, the other in the sun outside.
They exchanged silent glances without a word.
Kong Youling, hugging a sketchbook, occasionally glanced at Ji Minghuan and then at Su Zimai, her eyes full of curiosity.
“You still know to come back…” After a while, Su Zimai lowered her head, her voice hoarse.
“You’re unhappy I’m back; well, next time I won’t…” Ji Minghuan spoke nonchalantly, but before he could finish, Su Zimai suddenly hugged him.
Ji Minghuan’s words came to an abrupt halt.
He was momentarily stunned, then softly spoke, “Just like our Diaper Demon. Even though you’ve never met my real self, you can hug an elementary school kid right away? Better be careful not to get caught by the police, okay?”
Su Zimai hugged him tightly, leaning against his shoulder, curling her lips slightly as she whispered, “You look so small yet dare to bully me… let’s see if I bully you when we get home.”
“Please, I’ll soon be taller than you.” Ji Minghuan retorted defiantly, “I’m only twelve, but you’ve already stopped growing.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“Just wait and see.”
Kong Youling blinked in surprise, tilting her head, her snowy white hair swaying gently.
She watched the two embrace, making exaggerated “oohs” and applauding lightly.
“Is she… the girl you mentioned many times before?” Su Zimai let go of Ji Minghuan and asked him.
“Yes.” Ji Minghuan nodded, “She’s my family.”
“Then she’s my family too.” Su Zimai said softly.
Kong Youling immediately said, “Sister.”
Ji Minghuan suddenly got a bit displeased, scratching his head as he said, “Don’t call her sister. Call her Diaper Demon.”
Su Zimai immediately gave Ji Minghuan a knock on the head to shut him up.
