“W-What the…” Oisin’s lips trembled as he gazed down at the massive city before him.

An aesthetic city he had never seen before in his life.

According to Daedalus, the layout and motif he used for the city was inspired by an ancient capital where Ninjas patrolled regularly.

Although Leone had no idea what Ninjas were, the design was good, so he decided to keep it.

Unlike the stone castles and fortified settlements that were common throughout the Borderlands, the buildings here possessed an entirely different beauty.

Large wooden structures with curved roofs covered in dark tiles stood beside wide stone streets, while elegant towers with multiple layers rose high above the surrounding buildings.

Some of them were enormous pagodas, their countless roofs stacked one above another as they reached toward the heavens.

Others served as watchtowers, administrative buildings, or simply magnificent landmarks that gave the city a unique appearance.

Although these places were empty for now, they were built for occupancy once the population of the Aslan Tribe increased or once they successfully convinced other monster tribes like Orcs, Goblins, Ogres, and Trolls to live alongside them.

Of course, Leone planned to modify these places in the future to perfectly suit those who would live in them. However, since he was only going for looks for now, he made sure that all the buildings looked impressive in their own right.

Dotted throughout the city were large banners bearing the emblem of the Aslan Tribe and the Ravage Tribe, all of them fluttering proudly from the pagodas, towers, as well as the Great Wall in the distance.

Then, at the very center of it all was the towering statue of the Earth Mother.

The Patron Goddess of the Barbarians, as well as the monster races that worshiped her as their Great Mother.

“By the Goddess…” Oisin almost forgot how to breathe at the sheer majesty he was witnessing.

As a historian, poet, and musician, the visual of the city in front of him inspired him enough that he could write a song on the spot.

Even Dian, the High Elf of Lost Paradise, made the sign of the Goddess before the statue. While their main Patron God wasn’t the Earth Mother, she was still a Goddess they recognized.

Aside from that, two monuments, which belonged to the Darkmane Tribe and the Aslan Tribe, had been transformed into a black lion and a golden lion, serving as Guardian Deities of sorts.

If the city inside the mountain was called Soleil, then the city outside was called Aslan City.

The City of Lions.

A fitting name for the city that would eventually be known far and wide.

“You are a bard, right?” Leone asked. “Later, I will let you hear the song of the Aslan Tribe.”

“Really?!” Oisin looked at Leone as if he had found a kindred spirit.

While the bard and Leone were chatting casually, Conall looked at the city with a solemn gaze.

’Master, it seems that you and I have greatly underestimated your great-grandson,’ Conall thought to himself.

He heard a bit of Leone’s background before coming here.

A young noble who had been wrongfully accused and unjustly sent into exile a few months ago.

Then, after his exile, he swiftly rose to power, becoming the youngest chieftain of the Borderlands.

He also fought several battles, which were supposed to be unwinnable.

And now, his tribe was recognized as one of the most powerful tribes in the Borderlands despite only having a population of less than two thousand!

Seeing this majestic city before him, Conall had to admit it.

Compared to Aslan City, the Helion Duchy looked less imposing.

“So, what do you think of Aslan City?” Leone asked Oisin.

“It’s great!” Oisin gave Leone a thumbs up. “I’d love to make a song about this city in the future.”

“Feel free to do so.” Leone encouraged the bard to sing the songs of the Aslan Tribe even after returning to the Radiant Empire.

However, not everyone was interested in looking at cities.

Fergus the Giantkin, as well as Ogma the Great Bull, looked at the mountain peak of Grimjaw Mountain. Both had sensed a powerful presence looking down at them from there.

At that moment, Astravor was looking down at his guests. And standing by his side was none other than Boris.

The Drake Sovereign roared loudly to greet the newcomers that had appeared in their territory.

It even flew down from the mountain peak and landed several meters away from Ogma, trying to intimidate the Giant Bull.

Unfortunately for Boris, it had picked the wrong opponent.

After all, not only was Ogma stronger than the Drake Sovereign, but its temper was even shorter!

Without any warning, Ogma charged at the clueless Boris and sent it flying.

Naturally, Boris was taken by complete surprise.

Although Ogma held back, it didn’t change the fact that it had asserted its stance that it was more powerful than the annoying lizard that had tried to intimidate it!

Realizing this, Boris flew back to the peak and hid behind Astravor. It even hugged the Garuda Gryphon from behind, and pointed at the Giant Bull as if saying, “That guy bullied me! He bullied me!”

Astravor could only heave a deep sigh in response. However, it raised its claw and subtly gave Ogma a thumbs up.

The Giant Bull snorted in return, breathing fire through its nose before swinging its massive head back to the side.

It acted as if Boris and Astravor weren’t a big deal. However, that was a mistake.

A few seconds later, a stone landed on top of the Giant Bull’s head, bouncing once before falling to the ground beside its feet.

The Giant Bull looked at the stone before crushing it with its feet in anger.

It then shifted its attention back to the top of the mountain, only to be hit by another stone on the head, which Boris had thrown to imitate Astravor.

“Mooooooooooo!”

Seeing this, the enraged bull stomped its hooves on the ground and lowered its head. From its stance, it looked like it was planning to ram the mountain until it was destroyed!

“O-Oi! Someone stop Ogma!” Oisin, who finally realized that something was wrong, immediately asked his comrades for help.

The Giantkin, Fergus, immediately wrapped his arms around the bull’s neck, holding it back with everything he had.

Conall and Dian had also moved to calm down the raging bull, who was now breathing fire through its nose like a flamethrower.

“It seems this place is going to become more lively starting today,” Otto commented from the side.

Brann chuckled, while Leone pinched the bridge of his nose at the sight.

It seemed that one more troublemaker had been added to the list of his problems.

He just hoped that Ogma, Boris, and Astravor would eventually find a common ground and get along during the Mercenary Group’s stay in the Aslan Tribe.
