Sss Awakening I Can Class Change At Will Chapter 694

Moon’s plan?[ … words ]

[ … words ]

Moon threw everything into keeping the archer occupied.

Both blades whirled, ice and lightning, and he pressed the elf with every combination he had, but the power gap punished him at every turn.

When he parried its arrows now, the sheer force behind them hammered through his guard and flung him backward, boots skidding across the snow, tens of meters covered in a single knockback before he could plant himself and charge back in.

Each exchange was a losing trade of positioning, and he had to spend precious seconds closing the distance again and again just to stay in the elf’s face to avoid giving it the advantage of long-range attacks.

The Beast Soul was fading fast, down to its last hits. Even with his healing, it was difficult to keep it alive.

‘I might have to recall it back…I can’t afford to lose such a powerful Beast Soul’

Theo saw Moon holding the archer’s attention and tried to make use of it. He crept in from the flank under his camouflage slowly and carefully, angling for a strike on the elf’s blind side while it was locked with Moon.

The archer suddenly spun mid-motion, faster than Theo’s senses could account for, and released a powerful arrow directly at him.

Before Theo could move away, the arrow punched through his chest and burst out his back, leaving a clean hole where his heart had been.

Theo’s eyes went wide. Then his body dispersed into light.

“Stop getting close to it!” Moon roared, dragging the archer’s focus back to himself with a lightning-charged attack. “Its senses are too sharp now, it feels you coming! Stay far, all of you! Ranged only, and only when I tell you!”

Theo reformed once more, pale-faced and gasping, a massive chunk of his life pool gone.

Kayn immediately grabbed hold of him, and they both retreated whilst Moon kept the archer at bay.

The archer came at Moon again, and one of its strikes got through, a bow-blow that cracked a bone in his forearm with an audible snap.

Moon grunted, fell back, and cast on the move, Minor Mend knitting the bone even as Cleanse did the major work in the background. His body screamed, and he ignored it, forcing the arm back into service through his healing spells and potions.

He needed something bigger. Something to buy space, to threaten it, to make it hesitate.

Thunderclap Raiju.

The purple wolf formed in his hand and launched, moving like a thunderclap across a starry sky, a streak of violet lightning tearing toward the archer at blinding speed.

The elf, having already drawn his bow with significant force, released the arrow to intercept the lightning wolf.

Moon poured his will into the Raiju, wrenching it off its path, and the wolf twisted aside at the last instant, the archer’s arrow missing it by a hair. The elf’s brows rose, a flicker of surprise that Moon had steered the wolf clear of his arrow.

Then the archer drew his bow once more, aiming it precisely.

The archer took a fraction longer this time, tracking the Raiju’s movement, and it loosed a second arrow, far more powerful than the first. The shot caught the Raiju dead center, and the purple wolf detonated, scattering into harmless sparks before it ever reached its target.

Moon frowned, hard.

Even one of my strongest attacks, and it swatted it out of the sky. The difference is too great. Everything I throw, it answers with room to spare.

The Beast Soul dispersed beside him, returninf it back to his mind space to avoid its destruction.

He was alone until he could resummon it again.

Two of his teammates had already lost a life each.

Marek’s mana was running low. His own body was a patchwork of healed breaks and half-closed wounds.

And the archer stood across from him, still blazing with its racial power, still barely winded, the timer Moon was betting on giving no sign of running out.

The thought he’d been shoving down clawed its way back to the surface, grim and cold.

Do I really have to use Life Burn?

He knew what it would cost him. Stacey’s warnings. The cumulative channel damage. The possibility that using it again this soon might cripple him permanently. He’d sworn he wouldn’t make that mistake twice.

But sworn oaths meant nothing to a corpse, and his team was dying by inches.

Moon’s grip tightened on his blades, and he stared at the Surpasser across the snow, weighing his own body against all their lives.

Moon’s eyes flicked to the beast horde that still hadn’t moved.

The archer had never committed its remaining beasts. Even after everything, even down to fewer than twenty, the horde stood in reserve, waiting on their master’s word.

Twenty Five-Star beasts, held back this whole time, and the moment the elf decided to unleash them, Moon’s exhausted team would be caught between a Surpasser and a wall of ice-armored monsters.

His face went darker than it had all fight.

He couldn’t protect them and fight the elf at the same time anymore.

So, he made the necessary adjustment.

“All of you, retreat. Leave the area, now. I’ll hold the elf. And watch out for the horde, the archer hasn’t used its beasts yet, less than twenty left, but the second you break away it’ll send them after you. Deal with them clean, don’t let them box you in.”

Elsa stared at his back, her pale face twisting with a frown.

“But you can’t fight this elf alone. You’ll die. We can’t just leave you here to—”

“He has a plan.” Nina cut in before Elsa could finish. Her own expression was grim, but her voice was steady.

“He always has a plan. And be honest with yourself, we’re a burden to him right now. We can’t touch this thing without dying, and every death we spend is one closer to gone for good. Standing here doesn’t help him. It just gives Moon more people to protect.”
