Twelve minutes after the second Initiate with an A grade shadow affinity was revealed, the testing of everybody’s shadow affinity and potential ended.

Thirty three of them were currently present, and these were the results of the tests taken.

One (1) had a S grade shadow affinity.

Two (2) had an A grade shadow affinity.

Two (2) had a B grade shadow affinity.

One (1) had a C grade shadow affinity.

Two (2) had a D grade shadow affinity.

Eight Year 1 Initiates had shadow affinity, and this was not a massive number compared to past Year 1 Initiates.

However, the presence of a S grade shadow affinity and two A grade shadow affinity was something that had never happened before.

The academy would definitely not ignore those with B grade shadow affinity, but the difference between A grade and B grade was vast.

The standard for the Shadowgrave Academy to call a batch of Year 1 Initiates good is if they have at least one Initiate with an A grade shadow affinity.

A grade affinities were rare. Very rare, and to have somebody with an A grade affinity for one of the unique elements was even rarer.

This was why the academy would consider a batch of Year 1 Initiates to be good if there was at least an Initiate with an A grade shadow affinity in the batch.

Initiates with B grade shadow affinity were rare, but not as rare as A grade and S grade.

Every year, they would have at least a single Initiate with a B grade shadow affinity.

And what pleased Instructor Valdin the more is that the number of students in the Research Department was not even half of the entire class.

There was bound to be at least one or two more Initiates with shadow affinity. And if the clan was lucky, they might find another Initiate with an A grade shadow affinity or even S grade.

Getting two S grade shadow affinities would cause waves upon waves in the clan, and many eyes would be focused on the Year 1 class.

Although he had that gut feeling that told him something was wrong, he believed that once Thorgan was tested, there would most likely be a high chance of him getting a S grade shadow affinity.

Instructor Valdin was banking on Thorgan to obtain a S grade shadow affinity, and this was not only for the clan.

It was also for himself.

The more valuable the class became, the more resources that would be allocated to him and the class.

The academy would also receive more funding, but majority of it would be for him and the class.

All he needed to do was nurture the talented Initiates in his class, and he would receive more resources which would help him to ascend higher in his heart rank.

And maybe even his bloodline rank.

Those with shadow affinity pleased Instructor Valdin, but when it came to shadow affinity potential.

It was rather disappointing.

Only five Initiates had the potential to gain shadow affinity through their artificial methods, and the highest potential was C grade.

Though this was disappointing, it was not enough to dampen Instructor Valdin’s mood, and all could see it as he spoke with Researcher Mahan.

Some minutes later, Simon and the others were led out of the Research Department, and Instructor Valdin told them they were free to explore and get used to the academy structure.

He also told them that their weekly stipends had been sent to them, and those who had shadow affinity would receive a message from the academy for specialized training the following day.

After telling them a few rules they should take note of and giving them some advice, he left the kids alone.

Some looked around in confusion, wondering where to go to. The structure of the academy was not exactly easy to figure out after all.

Simon was amongst the first set of individuals to step out of the gathering of his classmates.

His goal?

The school cafeteria.

He was hungry.

Though he could manage and even go two or three days without eating, that was not good for his growing body.

He needed to grow and eating good quality food was very necessary for his growth.

His only concern was…

’I just hope the quality foods are not too expensive. Anything I want to buy would be triple the actual price.’

Simon had the urge to sigh, but just as he was about to, he raised a brow as four figures ran toward him and surrounded him.

He stopped and raised a brow.

’Again?’Simon curiously wondered.

The four figures were four of his classmates, all boys, and kids he had no idea who they were.

At first, they thought Simon would cower and speak first since four of them were surrounding him, but when they saw that Simon was just standing there, staring at them with his calm, indifferent sky blue eyes, they could not help but frown.

“Hey slave, do you know why you’re in this situation?”

One of the four finally spoke, and it was the kid who stood a few meters in front of Simon.

The kid was wearing the mask of a boar, and his build was on the muscular side compared to Simon.

He emitted the aura of a Prime Fiend, and as he stared at Simon, one could see the anger and hatred that was in his eyes.

Simon slightly shook his head. “Enlighten me.”

The detached indifference Simon spoke with caused the hatred in the eyes of the four to thicken.

“You caused all four of us to nearly fail the trials. Our rankings are low because of what you did, and you’ll die for it today.” The boy with the boar mask said with thick, visible hatred and killing intent.

Simon indifferently raised a brow. “Really? I guess I’m glad hearing that. I was only planning on taking half, but I guess I’ll take everything. Thank you for solving one of my problems for me.”

“What?” The boy with the boar mask was confused.
