While he was waiting, time ticked by slowly. Seconds turned into a minute, and a minute turned into several minutes. Not a lot of time had gone by, but it all felt like an eternity to him.

He felt as if the world had slowed down around him until time was moving at a crawl. This feeling didn’t end until he heard a crashing sound as if glass was breaking.

He had heard this particular sound many times before, so he knew that it was the sound space made when it was being torn. So as soon as he heard that sound, his head snapped in the direction of the sound.

He thought that time was slow before, but he was wrong. As he attacked the golden divine being, time seemed to move even slower until it neared the point of being frozen.

But this was only an illusion. Time was still moving normally.

Just as he turned his head to look at the source of the crashing sound, he had already projected the power of devouring from his Cave Heaven towards the direction of the sound. All of the vessels of Fenrir down below were also doing the same thing.

So the black blanket had reached the golden divine being and covered them just as his eyes fell on the golden body. As soon as his eyes fell on the golden divine being, he saw their Cave Heaven appear to resist the black blanket. He immediately marked the Cave Heaven.

He was delighted when his mark actually landed on the Cave Heaven. But he didn’t let this distract him from doing what he planned. He didn’t waste any time before he executed both of his solutions simultaneously.

Now that this force has bound him, if he is to escape, he has to fight his way out. But before he could make a move, his mind slowed down.

He had the Insight Stat, so he knew what was happening to himself. He could tell that a powerful mental power had invaded his Cave Heaven, entered the core of the Cave Heaven, and was freezing his Life Fire.

He could resist this mental power, of course. But it will cost him some lifespan to do so.

With how precarious his situation was, he didn’t think twice about resisting this mental power. He didn’t hesitate at all to consume some lifespan to resist.

Unfortunately for him, just as he was resisting the mental power, something latched onto his Life Fire and was extracting his lifespan. Whatever was extracting his lifespan was also doing so at the rate of 1 year of lifespan per second.

Thanks to his Insight Stat, he could tell exactly what was going on with him. But even with everything so clear, he was still stunned and confused.
