My Glitched World Throne System Came Ten Years Too Early Chapter 123
Exhaustion[ … words ]
[ … words ]
Exhaustion was finally catching up with Roderic.
Both his body and aura reserves were approaching their limits.
Yet… there were still dozens of enemies remaining.
They weren’t planning on giving him a break either.
The remaining soldiers had already regrouped, surrounding him from every direction except behind.
And now, they were slowly closing in.
’’Haa… Haa…’’
Roderic tightened his grip around his hooked blades.
His gaze swept across the approaching soldiers.
Though knights still stood amongst them, their numbers had lessened significantly.
’It… doesn’t matter,’ he thought, breathing heavily. ’I just need to kill them all!’
Roderic kicked off the ground right away.
The soldiers raised their weapons, each stabbing and slashing towards him.
WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
Roderic twisted sideways, allowing several to pass.
He slashed his blade down simultaneously, smashing a spear that was still heading straight for him.
Then he rushed forward, closing the remaining distance to the shield wall.
The tip of his hooked blade lit up once more.
But just as he brought it down, two knights rushed forward from his sides.
’’GO TO HELL!’’
’’DIE!’’
Roderic’s expression shifted.
’Fuck!’
He quickly changed the direction of his blade.
BOOM!
The blade smashed into the knight’s shield, shattering it on impact.
Using his momentum, Roderic spun around and brought his second blade down.
SWISH!
It tore the knight’s face in half.
But the second knight had already closed the distance.
BANG!
His shield knocked into Roderic’s back, sending him tumbling forward.
’Shit!’
Roderic’s eyes widened.
Several sharp spears were already waiting for him just several feet ahead.
Gritting his teeth, he forced out more aura.
The sharp side of his blade lit up, already in motion.
WHOOSH!
A golden arc swept out towards the soldiers.
They didn’t stand a chance.
SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!
Nine soldiers were cut down instantly, their blood spraying across the road.
The spears that had been waiting for him fell alongside their wielders.
Roderic nearly tripped over their bodies, but finally managed to regain his balance.
’Too close!’ he thought, clenching his jaw.
’’YOU’RE DEAD!’’ a scream echoed out behind him.
Roderic spun around instantly.
There, the same knight came charging towards him.
A sword filled to the brim with aura was already slicing down.
’Damn bastard!’
Roderic raised both his blades with their hook-sides up.
BOOOOM!!!
The knight’s longsword slammed down with immense force.
For a moment, Roderic nearly felt his knees buckle.
’’NO!’’ he shouted, trapping the longsword between his hooks.
Both his blades lit up with golden aura instantly.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
Hundreds of fractures rapidly spread across the knight’s trapped longsword.
BANG!
It shattered completely.
’’Hu—’’ The knight’s eyes went wide.
He didn’t get the chance to finish his sentence.
SWISH!
Roderic’s blade shot up, the sharp hook roughly burying itself in his throat.
’’GUGH!’’
Blood gushed from the wound, spraying across Roderic’s face.
He pulled his blade free, sending the knight collapsing onto his back.
’Another two knights down…’ he thought. ’That leaves just… seven?’
And then there were still dozens of ordinary soldiers.
Roderic sucked in a deep breath.
’’Haa… Haa…’’
His arms were trembling slightly.
Even blocking the attack from a One Seal knight had proven difficult.
At this rate…
’Damn it,’ he cursed, glancing up. ’These fuckers… I’ll kill them… like I promi—’
Roderic couldn’t even finish his thoughts.
’’ATTACK!’’ a shout rang out. ’’DON’T GIVE THAT DEMON TIME TO RECOVER!’’
Several knights rushed towards him together.
Gritting his teeth, Roderic’s adrenaline forced him through his exhaustion.
’’COME!’’ he shouted, raising his blades.
The first knight rushed forward, his longsword swinging towards Roderic’s neck.
CLANG!
Roderic caught the attack with his left blade.
But before he could counterattack, another knight thrust his sword towards his stomach.
He twisted sideways just a split second too late.
SHHHS!
The sword tore a thin line across his waist.
Roderic immediately swung his right blade up towards the knight’s throat.
CLANG!
An aura-covered shield intercepted it.
The bottom edge intentionally caught inside the hook and slammed the blade into the ground.
’’I’ve got one of his wea—’’
Roderic’s second blade flashed towards his exposed throat.
The knight’s eyes widened.
But with his shield lowered to pin Roderic’s blade down, there was nothing he could do.
SLASH!
Blood sprayed into the air as the sharp hook tore through his throat.
Despite that, Roderic’s attention had been focused on the knight behind him the entire time.
Another longsword was already well on its way towards his exposed back.
’Tsk,’ he thought, clenching his jaw.
SWISH!
The sword sliced across his back, leaving a deep gash behind.
’’KGH!’’
A sharp pain shot through his entire body.
But Roderic didn’t have time to worry about it.
He ripped his blade free and instantly spun around.
The knight who’d attacked him was still pulling back his blade, a hint of surprise plastered across his face.
’Got you!’
Roderic swung his blade around, ripping off the man’s arm.
Only a split second later, his second blade shot forward.
It reached just a bit farther, plunging into the center of the man’s skull.
Then Roderic violently yanked his blade sideways, splitting the man’s skull open.
THUD!
The knight’s body collapsed.
’’Haa… Haa…’’
Roderic slowly glanced around, his breathing heavy.
The remaining five knights had backed up slightly, shock and terror as clear as day on their faces.
’’HE’S EXHAUSTED!’’ one shouted. ’’SOMEONE ATTACK!’’
’’YOU DO IT!’’ another shouted back. ’’I’LL FOLLOW YOU RIGHT AWAY!’’
’’LIKE HELL I WILL!’’ the first knight shouted.
Roderic watched their argument, utterly exhausted.
Despite the countless soldiers remaining, he knew he needed to finish off the knights now.
’No matter the cost,’ he thought, raising his hooked blade.
Every last bit of aura remaining in his body began gathering around a single hooked blade.
Within seconds, its edge began glowing an intense golden color.
’’SHIT! HE’S PREPARING SOMETHING!’’
’’SHIELDS UP! NOW!’’
The five knights immediately rushed together, slamming their aura-covered shields side by side.
But Roderic wasn’t planning on giving them another chance.
’All of it…’ he thought, feeling his aura drain away. ’Defend against this!’
Without hesitation, he stepped forward and swung his blade sideways.
WHOOOOSHH!!!
A massive golden arc erupted from his blade, sweeping straight towards the five knights.
’’BRACE—!’’
BOOOOOOM!!!
The golden arc tore straight through their aura-covered shields.
Their armor didn’t even stand a chance either, shattering apart in an instant.
SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!
Blood sprayed across the road as the golden arc sliced through all five knights.
None of them even had the chance to scream.
THUD!
Their bodies collapsed almost simultaneously.
’’Haa… Haa…’’
Roderic’s legs nearly buckled.
He slowly lowered his blades, unable to feel even a trace of aura remaining in his body.
’Finally…’ he thought, glancing at the knights. ’The troublesome bastards… are dead.’
He might have lost his aura, but there was no one left alive who could use it either.
The entire battlefield remained silent around him.
Roderic slowly raised his head.
Dozens of soldiers were still standing ahead, staring at him in disbelief.
’’H-HE KILLED ALL THE KNIGHTS!’’
’’WHAT THE HELL IS THAT MONSTER?!’’
Swallowing hard, Roderic gripped his blades tightly.
’Still… so many…’
He took a step forward.
The soldiers immediately flinched, some even taking a step back.
’’DON’T BACK DOWN!’’ one of them shouted. ’’HE’S OUT OF AURA! HE CAN’T KEEP THIS UP FOREVER!’’
The soldiers exchanged uncertain glances.
Then another hesitant shout rang out.
’’H-HE’S RIGHT! B-BESIDES, WE’LL ALL DIE IF WE GO BACK LIKE THIS ANYWAY!’’
Roderic’s eyes narrowed slightly.
The change after that sentence was immediate.
Desperation replaced the fear in their eyes.
’’KILL HIM!’’
’’EVERYONE, ATTACK!’’
Dozens of soldiers raised their weapons and rushed forward.
Roderic gritted his teeth.
’Fuck…’
His arms were trembling, and his entire body was screaming in pain.
But he still raised both his hooked blades.
’I’ve come too far… to die here!’
