“Old Du, we can’t start a fight. You know how powerful those two are.”

Du Yu gritted his teeth, knowing Zhan Qisheng was right.

“Old Zhan, I’m just so pissed off. You saw it too, that was a living, breathing child,” Du Yu muttered in a low voice. “That baby hadn’t even opened his eyes to see the world before they personally turned him into a bug.”

“Let’s go back and ask Shiranui, see how we should handle this,” Zhan Qisheng whispered back.

Du Yu nodded silently and called out to the couple, “This situation requires us to go back and consult our superior. Follow us.”

Zhan Qisheng brought Du Yu along as they slowly flew away. They glanced back at Izanagi and Izanami, only to see the two briefly discuss something before immediately lifting off the ground and slowly flying into the air.

“What a convenient ability…” Du Yu smiled bitterly. As long as those two believed they could fly, they really could fly.

After landing in Takamagahara, neither Du Yu nor Zhan Qisheng looked particularly well. They walked toward Shiranui Asuka, and just as they were about to speak, she smiled and patted them on the shoulders.

“Senior Du Yu, Senior Zhan Qisheng, you both did wonderfully! It matches the recorded legends word for word!”

“Huh?” Du Yu’s eyes went wide. “Word for word? Including that leech? Just what kind of nonsense do your legends record?”

“You!” Shiranui Asuka looked offended, her expression turning ugly. “What is wrong with our legends?”

“No, no.” Du Yu laughed awkwardly. “They’re great. Truly epic and deeply moving.”

Upon seeing Shiranui Asuka, Izanagi and Izanami immediately dropped to their knees and asked, “O great ‘God,’ why did we give birth to a ‘leech’? Why didn’t we have a child?”

Du Yu chuckled coldly. ‘Oh, Asuka, Asuka,’ he thought. ‘I really want to see how you’re going to solve this one. These two have such bizarre logic that even I can’t handle them. What kind of solution could you possibly have?’

Wearing a disdainful look, Du Yu stepped aside, picked up a bowl of water, and started drinking.

“Ahem!” Shiranui Asuka cleared her throat and declared, “The reason you gave birth to a ‘leech’ is because after circling the ‘Heavenly Pillar’, the woman spoke first. It is bad luck!”

“Pfft!” Du Yu spat a mouthful of water straight onto the ground.

What was this?

This was using magic to defeat magic!

“Asuka, you really are something…” Du Yu shook his head. “I never dreamed you would offer such a constructive opinion.”

“Hmph!” Shiranui Asuka pouted and glared at Du Yu. “What do you know?”

“You’re a woman yourself… Don’t you think it’s a bit inappropriate for you to say something like that?”

Shiranui Asuka quickly leaned in and whispered, “It’s not like I want to say it, but the legends record that this is exactly what the ‘Gods’ said.”

“So that is why!” Izanagi suddenly realized. “Does that mean it will be fine as long as the man speaks first?”

“Exactly!” Shiranui Asuka nodded. “If the man speaks first, you will give birth to an island. If you don’t believe me, go and try it!”

After hearing Shiranui Asuka’s words, the two treated it like a priceless treasure. Hand in hand, they flew back to Onogoro Island to circle the pillar once more.

Du Yu wore an awkward smile as he looked back at the group. Zhan Qisheng’s expression was similar to his own, while Qu Xi looked as if she had expected this all along.

“Du Yu, those documents I organized for you…” Qu Xi murmured.

“Right, right, I didn’t read them. Shame on me,” Du Yu hastily nodded. “I’ll definitely read them ahead of time in the future.”

Qu Xi curled her lips in resignation and sat off to the side.

“But seriously, this ‘Thought Manifestation’ is incredible. Who would have thought that our country’s old saying about ‘may all your wishes come true’ actually packed such immense power?”

Zhan Qisheng nodded as well. “If we hadn’t seen it with our own eyes, who could have imagined that such a powerful spell actually existed in this world…”

“No.” Zhan Qisheng shook his head. “But I feel like Goddess Nuwa must have known ‘Thought Manifestation.’ Otherwise, I can’t comprehend how she managed to mold clay into human beings.”

“Born with it…?” Du Yu looked a bit disappointed. “You can’t cultivate it later on?”

Thinking carefully about it, that made sense. If such a powerful spell could be acquired through practice, who knew how many times the world would have been destroyed by now.

“That should be about enough time…” Shiranui Asuka calculated. “Three minutes have already passed!”

“Ahem!” Du Yu cleared his throat. “Asuka, you might still be young, so there are some things you don’t quite understand. For a man, three minutes is usually not…”

Shiranui Asuka ignored Du Yu entirely and directly activated the projection of the Yata Mirror. Sure enough, Izanagi and Izanami were already straightening their clothes.

“Then what should I call you?”

Izanagi thought for a moment before suggesting, “Let’s establish a new relationship. I will call you my wife, and you will call me your husband.”

“Okay.” Izanami nodded with a smile. “Husband, please come take a look at our child.”

Izanagi walked over and stared at the infant in Izanami’s arms. After a long pause, he declared, “This is not a child. This is an island.”

Izanami hurriedly nodded in agreement. “Yes, the ‘God’ told us we would give birth to an island.”

Du Yu knew right then that there was no saving this child either.

The infant in Izanami’s arms instantly transformed into a massive boulder, and then, under everyone’s watchful eyes, it grew larger and larger, floating straight up into the sky.

“It really is an island!” Izanami clapped her hands, watching as the landmass drifted into the distance before plunging into the sea.

“Wife, look at this island. It has shallow roads upon it. We shall call it Awaji Island,” Izanagi said.

Du Yu furrowed his brow and looked at Shiranui Asuka. “Does Fusang actually have an island like that?”

“Of course. It is one of the Eight Great Islands of Fusang.”

It was as though Izanagi and Izanami had developed an addiction, churning out islands at a rate of one every three minutes. Fortunately, Izanagi was “quick” enough that the whole process didn’t take very long.

“Wife, this one shall be called Iyo Island.”

“Wife, this one shall be called Oki Island.”

“Wife, this one shall be called Tsukushi Island.”

“Husband, shall we call this one Iki Island?”

“Husband, shall we call this one Tsushima Island?”

“Look quickly, this island is Sado Island.”

“Look quickly, this island is Great Yamato Toyoakitsu Island.”

The two of them were like a factory assembly line. Just as Du Yu had said, they popped out island after island in rapid succession. These were the modern “Eight Great Island Nations” of Fusang.
