My Glitched World Throne System Came Ten Years Too Early Chapter 121

Holding the line[ … words ]

Frederic, John, and Peter all glanced up, their gazes quickly locking onto Roderic.

For a moment, none of them moved.

’He’s going to fight all by himself?’ John thought, eyes widening.

But before he could protest, Frederic opened his mouth beside him.

’’YOU HEARD THE YOUNG LORD!’’ he shouted. ’’GET MOVING!’’

John snapped out of his thoughts and quickly nodded.

Together with Peter, the three of them slowly began backing up despite the enemy’s continuous attacks.

But there was just one problem.

Paul hadn’t moved an inch.

SWISH!

His scythe decapitated another soldier.

’’HAHAHAHA!’’ he laughed, kicking off towards another.

The man was completely lost in the fighting, seemingly unable to hear anything around him.

Attack after attack continued heading for him.

Yet, Paul dodged them all with the strangest, wildest stances imaginable.

’’PAUL!’’ Frederic shouted. ’’WE’RE LEAVING!’’

No response came back.

’’That damn idiot!’’

Several meters away, Roderic had already engaged the approaching Deres soldiers.

WHOOSH!

A wide golden arc shot forward.

Several soldiers collapsed, their bodies split cleanly through the middle.

Roderic’s gaze snapped up, locking onto Paul instantly.

’’PAUL!’’ he roared. ’’WITH THE REST! NOW!’’

This time, Paul finally reacted.

His scythe stopped halfway through another swing.

’’Huh?’’

He glanced towards Roderic, then towards Frederic and the others.

For a moment, he looked completely confused.

’’Oh shit!’’ he muttered.

Without another word, he turned and began running towards them.

The surrounding Deres soldiers immediately backed away.

None dared to stand directly in his path.

Instead, they desperately thrust their spears and swords towards him from a distance.

CLANG!

Paul casually knocked aside an incoming spear.

In an instant, a short knife shot out from underneath his sleeve.

KGH!

It plunged into the soldier’s eye, killing him instantly.

’’OUT OF MY WAY!’’ Paul shouted.

WHOOSH!

His scythe swept forward, forcing another group of soldiers to scatter.

Within seconds, he’d caught up with Frederic and the others.

’’What took you so long?!’’ Frederic shouted angrily.

’’Sorry!’’ Paul apologized frantically. ’’I don’t know what happened—’’

’’Just move!’’ Frederic interrupted him. ’’We need to cover the rear and prevent them from escaping!’’

Paul’s eyes widened slightly.

His gaze snapped in Roderic’s direction for a moment.

’My lord,’ he thought, heart pounding. ’You’re planning to take them on alone?’

Despite his doubts and worries, Paul shook his head.

He had been given a task. That’s all he needed to focus on.

Roderic watched his retainers leave from the corner of his eye.

’Good,’ he thought. ’They’ll prevent them from escaping.’

There was no doubt in his mind in that regard.

But now… he had another problem.

There were still well over a hundred soldiers standing between him and the rear, with God knows how many knights sprinkled within.

And judging by their expressions, they had no intention of letting him leave alive.

’’Tsk,’’ Roderic clicked his tongue. ’’This is going to be troublesome.’’

He tightened his grip around his hooked blades.

Although he had successfully killed both Two Seal knights, the battle had taken quite a toll on him.

His breathing was heavy, his muscles were aching, and his aura reserves had already dropped considerably.

’How much do I have left?’ he wondered, ducking below an incoming spear. ’Like forty percent?’

THWACK!

His hooked blade plunged into a soldier’s chest.

’That’s not enough to clear them all up,’ he thought, twisting his body around.

WHOOSH!

Three spears passed by his side, one only a foot away.

’I’ll have to be careful…’

The edge of his blade lit up in golden mana once more.

’’SHIELDS!’’ a knight shouted, aura surrounding his own shield.

Several other knights quickly joined him, each slamming their shields down.

WHOOSH!

A golden arc shot out of Roderic’s blade.

BOOM!

The golden arc slammed into the aura-filled shields.

Several soldiers stumbled backwards, their feet dragging across the ground.

But the formation held.

Roderic narrowed his eyes.

He instantly surged forward, aiming to take care of the knights.

Before he got the chance, each of them retreated, letting soldiers with spears and swords take the front.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

The weapons shot towards him from all sides.

Roderic gritted his teeth and backed up instantly.

’This isn’t good,’ he thought. ’They’re switching.’

And that wasn’t even the worst part.

More and more soldiers were spreading out, slowly closing in on his sides.

’Shit, shit, shit. This isn’t good, this isn’t good!’

Another spear went for his neck.

Roderic narrowly dodged it before slicing the weapon in half.

’They’ll surround me soon,’ he thought. ’I need to back up more!’

There was no way for them to move once he was backed up near the trap field.

As Roderic twisted around another set of weapons, his gaze briefly landed behind him.

That’s when his expression changed.

’Wait…’

The trap field was nowhere near him!

It was still more than twenty meters away.

Roderic’s eyes widened.

’Those two seal bastards!’ he thought. ’They lured us that far away?!’

Sure, he could make a run for it and reach the area.

But if he did…

Roderic’s gaze landed on the rear, where the others were desperately holding their ground.

’They’ll just fucking turn!’

Gritting his teeth, Roderic stopped moving back.

CLANG!

He knocked aside another sword, immediately following up with a vicious strike.

SWISH!

The soldier’s head flew into the air.

But before the body even collapsed, another three soldiers rushed forward.

’Fuck it!’

Golden aura erupted around his blades.

’If I can’t retreat…’

BOOM!

Roderic shot forward, crashing into the approaching soldiers.

SWISH! SWISH!

Blood sprayed everywhere.

Several lost their arms, weapons, or heads.

A spear grazed his own shoulder.

Another sword sliced across his thigh.

But Roderic didn’t stop.

’I’ll just have to kill every last one of you!’

WHOOSH!

His hooked blades tore through another two soldiers.

For the first time, he completely abandoned the idea of conserving his strength.

His breathing grew ragged.

Injuries continued piling up one after another.

Yet his attacks only became fiercer.

’’COME ON!’’ he shouted loudly. ’’I’LL KILL YOU ALL!’’
